very well done. But they sound a little homer-ish at times. Either the author (which I believe is mgoshoe's kid) is too optimistic, or VA Tech has a lot of great players all over the field. The stats seem like they favor the latter, but it's hard to know without being more familiar with this writer's style

...indeed, I am 'Shoe's son. I do admit that I am a bit of a homer and it's easy to tell that I think very highly of the program that I cover. The point of these write ups, other than to familiarize the Michigan fanbase about its opponent, is to get across the message that the Hokies are a talented and dangerous team in spite of their two convincing losses to Clemson.

At the end of the day, the outcome of the Sugar Bowl will decide if I have inflated the talent of the Hokies' roster.

As I say, the write-ups are quite good, and the stats seem to back the Hokie optimism. We have some posters on this site who'd give the straight view (Brian, Magnus, jamiemac, jmblue), and others who would be more bright side leaning (most everyone else)

The write-ups have shown VT to be a better team than I anticipated (the last blowout loss makes it easy to forget they're the #11 team in the country), and I appreciate the detailed info.

They shouldn't hold their breath waiting for Drob to throw picks. 8 of his int's came in only 3 games in the first half of the season. He got steadily better as the year wore on and for The Game his passer rating was over 200.
Also, haha :o)

VTech sits back and waits for shoelace to make a mistake. By the time they realize what hit them they will be down two TDs and Denard will be flashing his million dollar smile.

Good sized back field for VT:

Hosley 5'10" 171# 4.5sec,  Hill 5"11' 180# 4.45sec, Bonner 6'0" 189# 4.64sec & Exum 6'0" 220# 4.4sec

UM:

Odoms 5'8" 171# 4.45sec, Hemingway 6'1.5" 202# 4.5sec, Roundtree 6'1.5" 186#, 4.5sec, Gallon 5'9" 179# 4.5sec

If the poster Ryan is correct and Hosley can be beat up top then maybe Drob to Odoms could spell a long day for the Hokies.

Jayron Hosley is really good; he should scare all of us.  He is not only a good DB, but is excellent at returning kicks.

Say what you want about the lackluster resume that VT brings in this year, but they have a lot of athletes and are a dangerous team.
