Vote for Michigan to Receive College Gameday Commercial

Submitted by tdcarl on

I haven't seen a thread about this, and seeing as how we're currently in 49th place I don't think there has been one.

College Gameday is having a contest to shoot a College Gameday commercial on a college campus this summer. The school with the most votes wins. Michigan is currently getting smoked and is in 49th place.

So yeah, go vote.

I agree with you, but it appears that Nebraska has already pulled out the bots.  They have 11,000 votes already.  For reference, almost everyone else in the B1G has less than 1000.

It's great we jumped from 49th, but someone at NC State and Nebraska either has nothing to do, or bots are already involved. They both have 10,000 plus

Le Sigh.  Nebraska nerd at it again.  Why does ESPN and EA insist on setting up stupid, easily hacked polls that are actually tied to tangible rewards.

You need FB?  Fuck that, I want Michigan to win, but not enough to log into my facebook account and potentially spam everyone I know with my vote.

I'm very computer-capable, I just can't stand anything that requires facebook to access.  For some reason, little facebook icons at the end of articles and logins using facebook get on my nerves, and I try to avoid them like the plague.

It seems like whoever is in the lead now will probably win. Not enough people will connect with their FB accounts for fear of unwanted spam, posts in his/her name, etc. I would think they should just start over.

While this is another stupid ESPN gimmick poll, this one actually has a tangible benefit as it would be an opportunity to show off the university.

Yep, that's that... NC State and Nebraska botted up to around 40k votes each before ESPN made the poll Facebook-voting only to end the bots. Now no other schools have a chance at catching up, so NC State it will be.

EDIT: Bots still work perfectly... Texas A&M racked up 80,000 votes immediately after I posted this.

You can still vote multiple times even though its Facebook-voting only. Just open up a new incognito window every time, and log into your facebook count again. I just voted like 10 times.

Even though they are making you log into facebook, they clearly aren't tracking the votes through facebook...pretty dumb.

Texas A&M brought out the bots. They have 228,000ish votes. Someone break out the MGobots.

Ha, NOW bots are broken; the numbers have nearly frozen, changing as slowly as they should be for a Facebook-tied poll. Hopefully ESPN cleans up the obvious botting so that they didn't just effectively freeze A&M into first.
