Vote for Donnal (Ohio player of the week)
Donnal is up for an Ohio player of the week award. It looks like he should have no problem winning it but I wanted to pass it on to the board.
You can vote here if you're so inclined, http://www.jjhuddle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=274621
Edit: Actually there is a kid from Salem who is ahead...
Edit2: Thanks for the votes! Donnal was down ~200 votes and has now pulled ahead, voting ends 1/3. FWIW,he had a really solid week and plays a really good Central Catholic team tonight.
Edit3: Kid from Salem is back up by 70 votes.
Edit4: I don't know how bots work but votes for the kid from Salem appear to by increasing at an unrealistic rate...

Who puts up 51 in a game gets my vote, especially seein as how his team only win by 17 the game could have been close until the end

Looks like he is behind some guy from Salem. Donnal is going to be a nice player. He looks like a great fit. He can hit the outside shot and be a force under the basket.

It's not our place to vote if we haven't seen the other kids games. Glad he's coming to Michigan but no need to compromise values over a silly award.

Huh? Compromise values? If it's a "silly" award why does it matter if you've seen the games or not? Do you think everyone who has voted on there has seen all the games?

Your comment reveals you don't understand how values work. It doesn't matter if it's a silly award. Your values apply to your actions not to the award. Your action would be the vote and voting based solely on where people are going to college rather than the games played is disingenuous.

I haven't done any scholarly research on the field, but given the knowledge at hand I believe this to be the most ridiculous moral outrage in the history of the written word.

Yep, you got me "Mr. Professor of Ethics." I know nothing about ethics. I do know that not everyone voting on there has seen all of the games since many of the games occur at the same time. It's like saying you should not be able to vote for the Heisman winner unless you've watched every single snap of every game.

Are you serious? It's an award based on internet voting, so any yahoo with an internet connection can vote, and I bet most of the people who are voting are doing so for fairly comparable criteria.
What if my sole reason for voting was "he goes to my school" or "he's my nephew." Would I have poor values then?

That said, I have actually watched every one of those kids play all of their basketball games since birth, as well as their other sporting events and have interviewed their friends and teachers to gauge their character.
Based on that information, Donnal was the best choice and received my vote (on multiple devices).

him knowing this.

This is a state wide weekly award... How could anyone see all of the potential nominees each week? This is why they have to be nominated for the greater majority to vote on.

Donnal is up by about 60 votes now if anyone cares.

You may have had a better argument that voting is political and political discussions are verboten on this site, thereore don't vote. It's as spurious as your original contention, but more salient, perhaps.
