Also good news:
Hockey wins 4-2, despite a 12-6 penalty disparity, including Vaughn and Bennett getting majors and a misconduct.
Opening weekend road sweep is always good.

Also, Red got his 700th win last night. So not all is lost.

Red is a god among men. You think he could coach DBs part-time?

great news on the the other less publicized fronts. thank you all for a great pick me up from an otherwise cruddy day. Go Blue and keep on drinking!!!!

The other better news?
The Sparty trolls are out. A part of my soul died when the people in Columbus stopped talking shit about our football team. I get sympathetic looks here now. If Sparty learns to handle wins graciously, it means they've become accustomed to it. That would not go over well for me. Sorry to clutter up an optimistic thread, but I wanted to make that point, and this thread seemed applicable.

For Lexi!!! What a beast! (assists, kills, digs)
Also, hockey wins with a 4-2 final at BGSU, for the sweep. WAYYYYY too many penalties (including 2 checking from behind + misconduct) but they still got the job done.
In what may be WAYYYY worse news, Rust falls in the middle of the first, trainers come out, Rust leaves holding his wrist, Rust doesn't come back in the game.

I had a class with Lexi. I was always bummed that she only wore sweatpants.

+1, sir.
I too have a weakness for vball girls.

title change not intended to belittle vball but, rather, ... we won, awesome, kthx

I am happy whenever a michigan team wins, but it doesnt little to offset the pain at the big house today.

Yeah, this was a great sports weekend in all the peripherals, just not in the Big One. Wins for almost all our other sports, including a nice sweep for hockey to bounce back, a win against top ten opposition for v-ball, two Red wings wins for the Detroit fans, and a Dee Hart commitment. Losing to State to me doesn't hurt so much as the fact that all the Denard doubters & pundits will be out in force now. :(

Two things:
1) They were the best fall team on campus last year, making the Elite Eight. And are kind of awesome this year.
2) If you're male, watch them on BTN sometime. It is both entertaining and um, aesthetically appealing?

Is this a joke?I live Michigan but c'mon.
Warning: Arrogant Asshole Moment Coming...
It's stuff like this that gets me mad at "Michigan fans" that are unafiliated with the university. Maybe I'm wrong and you're a student. If so, you should get out to Cliff Keen - Volleyball is awesome. If you're an alum, I'm disappointed that you don't recognize and respect the many top-notch programs the University has.
And if I'm right in assuming you're unafiliated with the University, then you should seriously try to realize that the University is more than just the football team.

Great win over an Illini team that recently took down PSU. Look forward to another nice run in the tourney.
Go Blue!

Awesome game to watch. Check out the highlights above, specifically at the 2:00 mark to see one of Lexi's many unbelievably ridiculous sets.
If you haven't seen Lexi play, you need to get out to Cliff Keen. She will easily go down as the best player in the history of Michigan Volleyball.
