Volleyball Season Preview
Volleyball remains the best kept secret in Ann Arbor and the team is always a ton of fun to watch. We're replacing Lexi Zimmerman - all-time greatest Wolverine - with a freshman setter also named Lexi (Dannemiller), and with Nebraska making the B1G the strongest conference in the NCAA, it should be a fun year.

I love me some women's volleyball outfits. Arguably the greatest in any women's sport.

Their uniforms are legit.
But in all seriousness I'm hoping to make it to at least one match this year. Gotta support the leser known teams too.

I had a friend who played women's volleyball for UM while I was in school. The games are a lot of fun.

Uh gross. That's an MSU uniform. I don't care who's in that's, that's a disgusting picture.
If she changes into something else, I'm all ears though.

The view would be improved markedly if she weren't wearing MSU's uniform.

are you that New Lexi will start over Yager? I know New Lexi comes in with quite a few accolades, though not as many as Old Lexi, but Yager wasn't exactly chopped liver coming out of high school either (top 50 overall, I believe) and she's had two years at Michigan already. It wouldn't surprise me a ton to see New Lexi start, but if pressed, I would say that Yager was going to win the job. Do you have anything more concrete that makes you go with New Lexi or are you just kind of speculating as well?

Don't have anything to go on besides speculation. It would make sense that two years in the program would give Yager the edge, but I like the Old Lexi -> New Lexi narrative too much to give up on the dream just yet.

Both Dannemiller and Yager have similar playing styles (traditional setters rather than attacking setters like Zimmerman), so neither is at a skill set advantage over the other.
Coach Rosen is also looking at leadership and intangibles. He said at the end of last season that despite Yager not being a flashy player, "her teams just always seem to win." If there's not a huge separation between the two during camp, Yager will probably start, at least for the beginning of the season.
