Vlad The Impaler weighs in on USC sanctions

Submitted by FabFiver5 on

Facebook stalking has turned up this status update from Vlad Emilien...

"dang i thought we got it bad but two years without a bowl and 20 scholarships took at USC... damn.... well guess we blessed over here for the punishment we received ...."

Maybe we should have a rosier outlook on our situation just like Vlad does?

i understand the feeling of relief, but...

we went over on practice by a matter of minutes of stretching...

USC allowed payments and benefits to their player to occur, in both football and basketball...

we had QC coaches standing around talking football when they shouldn't have...

USC hired Lane Kiffin...

not applicable comparison, and our media storm was worse than our penalties...

Anyone else remember his impromptu interviews he gave on Twitter last year? As enjoyable as his opinions on college football and Michigan are, I'm sure the coaching staff will be having another talk with him regarding use of social networking services.

How in the hell did Ohio State get away with Clarret???  They didn't even get a slap on the wrist, probation, a few scholarships NOTHING!  How is that possible, how did they find the right person to pay off?

Self reporting, cooperation, and a lack of institutional knowledge (at least proveable knowledge) all contributed to OSU not getting hammered at all for the Clarett saga.  It's better to cooperate and demonstrate that you care about the violations vice circling the wagons and playing keep away from the NCAA.  The NCAA cares about the future more than mistakes of the past and cooperation is an indicator that you won't repeat mistakes.
