There are several big names coming to town this weekend, and one of which is a 4-star OT with multiple crystal balls in for Michigan. (William Harrod - his 247 profile)

Maybe we CAN have nice things?  Maybe?

I'm curious on who will end up as the QB for this class. For a while it seemed like Phommachanh but it seems like he's favoring FSU. Maybe we could steal Tyson since Bama may want Taulia Tagovailoa, or they could just take both. The most likely candidate is probably Sam Johnson but maybe also Cade McNamara? In an interview he said he has a strong relationship with Harbaugh.

I think M would line him up. His speed will increase and I am certain he'll be a fine receiver. I believe this is why OSU is offering him as QB, because they believe anyone that has or can will want to play there. I really don't think they'll be in the final four or five though. That's judging by his brother's choices and even his parents. They all were good enough to have that nice education paid for and each decided to take full advantage, Two grabbed great private school papers and one went for one of the tope three public schools. I think Luke will go the same way. Can't imagine all of them setting around discussing college and Luke chiming in about the challenges presented in Colombus. He'd be laughed out of the house.

He's just another developmental guy. Maybe we're okay depth-wise and that's fine, but he doesn't excite me. He's got a decently strong arm, but he relies on that a little - he doesn't step into all of his throws. I haven't seen him make a lot of the standard 3-step routes with zip. He has to work on his mechanics. He just seems very "meh" to me. He seems like a poor man's McCaffrey honestly.

I'm sure that negative recruiting by sparty and OSU is mainly to blame. Really... Whatever they were saying about Drevno, seems to have hit home. Wed lose recruit after recruit, and late, at our biggest need in our most historically notable spot too. This won't happen with Warinner.

The talent tends to be in the Chicago area.  Illlinois is far downstate from Chicago, in a completely different geographic and culttural region of the state.

It's "out of state" for all practical purposes.

If you are going to go to all the trouble to go down there, you might as well go out of state for real.

The talent in Chicago is mediocre overall.

I think of Illinois (a.k.a. Chicago) as being more of a basketball-oriented location. There are some good athletes who come out of there (Ethan Pocic, Luke Ford, David Molk, etc.), but if the whole state were declared ineligible, I don't think it would affect college football a great deal.

Illinois did just land a top-100 ATH in Marquez Beason, but he's from Texas. I don't know how long that commitment will last...

I doubt they'll be able to pull it off until signing day. Even if Williams committed right now, he's gonna be chased by every team until he signs and after seeing how Illinois football performs, I'd be surprised if any high 4 star chooses to stick with them.

Nm (I'm going to just end every comment with "Nm". It seems like the cool thing to do even though it really doesn't make any sense.)

I always enjoy seeing the Twitter pics and these teenagers enjoying Ann Arbor, the facilities and the visit with players and coaches.  Must be such a blast for these young kids.
