Visitor Update (Defense!)
I posted this in Tom VH's diary post on visitors for this weekend but since it is buried in the diary section I thought I would post it here as well to quiet down some of you who are asking for more defensive recruits. Scout is reporting that Ohio DE/TE Austin Traylor will also be in attendance this weekend for an official visit. He is a three star #77 DE in the country according to scout (http://michigan.scout.com/a.z?s=162&p=8&c=1&nid=4737899) and for rivals he is a four star (#214 in the country), 9th ranked weak side DE, and top 10 in Ohio (http://rivals.yahoo.com/stanford/football/recruiting/player-Austin-Traylor-106929)

bring on more defense! That or TE. I like the Webb and Koger are still finding roles in the offense.

Wow, lots of variation on opinions about him between the two recruiting sites.

Traylor is a guy that is very open as well.. I think if we strike out with Deion Barnes he would be an excellent pickup.

where do we stand with his recruitment? and is he going to take an official in the near future? Looks like a very good player.

Michigan is in his final five and likely getting a visit, yeah.

Yeah thanks a lot ZB. I hope you don't get too down if it doesn't help calm the members calls for recruiting defense.
This is a persistent bunch.

That's good we need to start picking up the pace on some of these defensive recruits.

<br>Hopefully we can pull out this win and maybe pick up a commitment or two.

this morning say he is related to Tractor.

The guy is related to Robert Tractor Traylor (I kid you not)....Betcha he's a great athlete...

I want him to commit tomorrow. Why do you ask? 2 Reasons.
One, to lock down our TE position and not have to settle on a second tier guy.
But more important, just imagine what kind of dreads we can develop from this guy:

Nice!

the importance of the TE position in what we are doing. Webb and Koger don't catch a lot of balls, but they block the hell out of people. Webb is a senior, Koger is a senior to be. After next year, a senior Brandon Moore in 2012 is the only other TE we have left. I'd say we have to take one this year.

Austin Traylor is a great athlete, he would be a solid pick-up for this class. He's like a black Brennen Beyer, they are pretty similar players - thin, yet athletic DE's in the Craig Roh mold who could also play TE if we needed them to.
Either way, I've been pushing for Traylor for a while, he's a recruit I really like. Getting a commit from him would be pretty big.
