Vincent Smith Kickstarter could use some MGOhelp

Submitted by Philbert on

I got the Hope for Pohakee kickstarter update tonight and saw that Martavious linked Vincent Smith' new project. It seems that Smith is seeking funds to start teaching art classes in Pohakee which is great. I remember a post and article from over the summer that mentioned something about Smith and his art.

Can't say I'm the biggest art buff, but I support what Smith is trying to do. MGOBLOG has been great at getting these kickstarters going and helping an ex-player is pretty cool too.

Here is the link:

Also remember this guy almost got killed by Clowney, least you could do is donate a couple of bucks.

Yeah, we know what happened there...Lewan made a call that wasn't heard, Clowney slipped inside real quick, etc.  We should be proud that that little dude named Vinny Smith ate that gigantic hit like it was nothing.  I know he fumbled, but it would have been a miracle if he hadn't.  Toughest SOB on the team.  Damn proud he wore the winged helmet for 4 years.

As a Michigan fan, the first thing that pops into my head when people mention Smith is not the Clowney thing, but his awsome throwback screen run into the endzone against Notre Dame during UTL.

C'mon Michigan fans, he has plenty of cool highlights to focus on.

And maybe I imagined it because no one ever refers to it.  But wasn't another (earlier) highlight of that game when Clowney had to leave the game briefly because of some affront to his groin area?  And wasn't it V. Smith who caused the offending collision (perhaps with his now-famous helmet)?

I'd appreciate someone with film replay capabilities to confirm or refute.  If true, I think these two events should forever be linked in football lore.

V. Smith.  Our beloved Little Big Man.

Done and done. I had to laugh at the "TL;DR" description he put at the end of the page - he has a very MGoBlog-ish sense of humor there. In any case, it's an awesome idea and I will never shirk at opportunities to give to the MGoCommunity.

I know I'm probably a turrible person for saying it, but I wish Vinny would have offered a signed postcard as a price like Tae did, that was a no brainer! Now i have to think about what kind of wristband I want, mann

Well, there may not be postcards but there are various posters and canvas prints of VS's artwork to choose from.  I went for the two 11 x 17 prints, myself.  That is a bit larger than I would have liked, but I am sure I can find a place for them.
