Vincent Smith hosted Allegan, MI community garden grand opening
I'm slow on the draw here, but I don't think this has been covered yet. A few days ago, (friend of the board!) Vincent Smith appeared at a community garden event in Allegan, MI. I think this is the only official media coverage so far: http://www.wzzm13.com/story/news/local/2015/07/02/new-community-garden-opens-in-allegan/29657161/. (I think the local Allegan paper was also there, but they seem to have taken the weekend off posting new content.)
I hadn't realized there was an online announcement beforehand or I would have posted it ahead of time.
I knew it was happening but I'm too far away to go, so I never asked when exactly or thought to publicize here.
45 minutes away from here. Too bad we didn't get word of last week's #Eating event sooner, but I may just take a drive soon and pull a few weeds anyway.

Allegan County is mostly rural, but a lot of it is wooded rather than farmland.
Allegan (city of approximately 5000 residents) is a typical Michigan small town, maybe a little less prosperous than many other similar-sized towns in Michigan. Probably little (if any) farming is done inside the city limits. From what the OP posted, including the links, I would assume Vincent's project was within the Allegan city limits
DOUBLE GUNS! WHERE YOU AT?
Sometimes, you simply have to introduce your work first before you go all finger guns, although fingers guns is a nice way to drive the point home regardless...
And is also home to one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, Perrigo. Market cap, approx $29 billion. Whaaa?
Being from Hopkins, the next town over, there is:
1. Perrigo
2. Allegan County Fair
3. Ag
4. Nothing else
