On the one hand, the overwhelming numbers in the stadium and the imposing luxury boxes suggests a subjugation of the individual and elevation of the spectacle--exactly what one would expect stadium architecture to accomplish. On the other hand, bubblegum pop is playing through the speakers, and the curious Prozac-tinged scene, complete with pink Ohio fan splotches, represents an immense relief to Wolverine fans everywhere. The slightly washed-out exposure of the film adds to the dreamlike quality of the scene.
