I did not see this in the comments to the other post and if it is not "post worthy" fell free to delete.

Here is a BTN highlight video of "Tommy" Brady addressing the Michigan team:

Getting Tom Brady involved in this program is such a great opportunity.  He is an excellent speaker, teacher, and motivator.  Everyone I know that has played with him has told me the same thing.  I fully agree with keeping him as involved as he has time for.

I went to high school with Drew Henson and played varsity with him (he was a year behind me).  When I was at Michigan, my freshman year with football ended nicely ('97).  Sophomore year I of course wanted Henson to play because he was my friend, my teammate, and I knew first-hand what a phenomenal athlete he was.   I didn't dislike Brady, I just wanted Drew to play.

I still remember the last game I watched Brady play at Michigan.  We had made the trip to Miami to play Alabama and a certain  Shaun Alexander.  We were trailing most of the game but Brady kept leading us back and refused to let us lose.  I remember walking out of the stadium after the win and marveling about how good Brady really was.

In my professional life, I had the privilege to train underneath Brady's orthopaedic surgeon and I got to meet him and talk to him a few times as a patient.  He is very humble, friendly, and will talk with you about anything.  There are many stories about him and Giselle being very kind to all the medical staff and having them over to their house.  He remembers everyone's name.  I had a Michigan tie he appreciated during office visits and even knew the name of my high school when I told him I knew Drew.  He also played most of the 2010 season with a fracture in his foot.  (This was not publicly disclosed until after the season and surgery)

Everything about Tom Brady being a hard worker, smart, team player, tough, and competitor is absolutely true as far as I know.  I hope he continues to be an asset to this program.

I'm not sure he will have the time to be a coach for us in the future (he just built a small house in Cali), but being around from time to time as a consultant would certainly help.

Thank for sharing your experience with Brady.  Although I found his speech moving, I am really not surprised.  You don't have the type of success that the Pats have had during Brady's tenure without a supremely good field general.  When you watch Brady on the sideline, you can see the fire burning.

This is one of those moments when saying "Go Blue" means just a little more.

Biggest thing that caught my attention -- before he steps up, Brady (Hoke) asks, when was the last time you, Brady (Tom), were here, 2007?  And Brady (Tom) goes right, 2007.

So... skipped the entire 2008-2011 thing... sort of speaks volumes, no?

I know they can't use Tom to recruit, but do you think it helps recruit if Brady (Hoke) says to a high school kid, you come here and you'll probably even get some pointers from the best quarterback in NFL history.

I'm sure all the recruits will know that this happened today, and will probably watch the video.  I'm sure the recruits know how Desmond is around all the time.  So you can't use TB to call recruits or anything, but you can show them this video so they see what is in store for them when they are on campus.

This makes me feel a lot better - knowing TB is still so passionate about Michigan Football and cares so much about the program.  Before today, I was worried a lot that Tom had lost some of his passion based on what happened here.  It's so warming to know he has not.  Go Blue is all I can think of to end my post.

So today in the hospital (in Ohio) the dad of one of my patients was saying that Ohio will win because the coach has to understand the traditions of the school and the rivalry the way Bo and Woody did, and the guy at Michigan just doesn't.  It took all my strength just to leave the room without telling him how much of an ignorant uninformed fool he was and pulling up the old quote of Urbz saying Michigan, Ohio, and ND were at the top of his coaching wish list.

Sorry, I had to vent that somewhere.

"Lloyd Carr was fired" and "Tom Brady doesn't care about Michigan" were bad enough, but "Brady Hoke doesn't get the UM-OSU rivalry" might be the most extreme example of willful ignorance I've encountered yet.* Of all people, an Ohio native ought to understand and be aware of Hoke's deep Ohio roots.

It's a credit to your Hippocratic oath that you didn't use your medical knowledge to bad purpose, if you know what I mean.

* and then I learn that some MSU fans are saying that Cousins will have a better NFL career than Tom Brady. What sort of alternate reality are people living in up in EL?

This is funny because I know so many MSU people that are always saying they have produced more NFL talent at the QB position than Michigan has. Then if Tom Brady is brought up, it's always been the same response - "Brady disdains Michigan since everybody wanted the guy on the bench in favor of Drew Henson so he doesn't count blah blah blah." (I've also heard them go on about how MSU has more QBs in the league than Michigan and that Kirk Cousins will have a better career than Brady). So it's good to know that Tommy himself has put lil bro back in its place regarding this argument.

We had Grbac, Collins, Dresibach, Griese, Brady, Henson, Navarre, Gutierrez, Henne, and Mallett all play in the NFL. (Without even going back to Harbaugh or counting Denard playing another position). If you started a game for Michigan you got a shot in the NFL for a long stretch there. MSU has Cousins, and I guess Stanton, and what? Tony Banks? You're drunk MSU People.

I can't imagine how awesome it would be to meet Tom Brady and listen to a cool speech in such an intimate setting. I went to college in 2003 so I liken that to being a freshman in college and having Joe Montana come through those doors.

A very cool experience and something I hope we see more of. Especially since this type of stuff always happens at places like USC. Hopefully we can get some other great Michigan representatives like Woodley, David Harris or Jake Long to get back and help motivate these new, future Tom Brady's, Woodley's, Harris' and Long's.

It's amazing to think what Hoke and team have done. And it's just the beginning. From the recruiting trail. To the turnaround of our defense. To making the best of what was given. And now to see how he's recreating the ties to our premier alumni, and they're taking the time to visit/speak to the team. Brady's last visit was in 2007.

Thank you Coach Hoke for all that you do.

I have a bit of Love/Hate relationship when it comes to Tommy Brady. As diehard Wolverine fan and someone who appreciates the game and the hard work involved in its practice.

Brady's story, talent, leadership, and work ethic are great and something to emulate. By all accounts he's great, that being said as a Raiders fan one of the most heart breaking moments for me was the Tuck Rule game he was apart of. I went to bed in tears that night and still have trouble getting over it.

All the same if it helps gets top QB prospects across the country attention to see arguably the greatest QB in NFL history come and speak passionately about his alma mater and how it helped grow as man I'm all for it.

Wow Tom really got in to it and is an inspiring speaker.  At the end I was surprised that some of the kids just gave him a quick handshake and looked away and left quickly...why is that?  Man..if that were me at age 18 I would have been honored to have shaken his hand and would have showed it... i hope they all realize what an honor it is to meet an all time legend like that. Great stuff.
