The first video, towards the end, is all I need to hear is that he's not healty yet, which does not surprise me with a nerve injury. Anyone who knows anything about nerves and nerve injuries know they do not heal quickly if they heal at all.

That and Hoke says Devin has "a little bit of an ankle".

Well, no, it doesn't sound serious but nothing Hoke mentions about injuries ever does. Looking past the Coach Speak though, I agree with you.
Regardless, you gotta love "a little bit of an ankle." Hoke at his finest.

Those Pahokee kids, man - some impressive young men for certain.

Odoms and Smith are a couple of classy dudes

I see a raw and fierce wisdom in the eyes of guys like Smith and Odoms. Amazing to see what blossoms in these young men when they are afforded a top level education combined with the real world hardships that exist in places like Pahokee (hardships that many of us can't even fathom).
Too many of these youg men are used by the football factories and given no real education or life skills. Results like this make me proud to be a Wolverine.

I like the Smith piece; it was especially great to hear him use the words "role model."
It was also great to hear Brady Hoke play his usual "Fort Schembechler" game with the media. It's almost as if, whenever he is asked an open-ended or potentially controversial question, he does a quick nod and blink in triumph after each non-committal answer.

The Vincent Smith video really makes me happy to know that the kids who may not make it to the NFL have had a valuable life experience here. I hope they all do something with it. Go Blue.

I wonder if being able to use the iframe embed code in OPs would fix this issue. It would certainly reduce the number of embed fails.

I thought the iframe was the culprit of the malware attack last year.

What's the point disabling iframes in the OP if you can still post them in replies?
For example, iframe:

...brushing off the stud label and just calling himself fat. We didn't get what we expected out of the guy, but it appears that he's come a long way mentally.

Just a shame he never reached his potential as a monster athlete. Great guy none the less based of his interviews.

I particularly enjoyed the Vincent Smith video, as it underscores something that I think is great about this team and says much about them as well as the school the represent. Off the field, the same guys that we cheer on each Saturday during football season are also able artists, engineers, activists (ala Odoms), and the like. I think we even have a recruit either in the 2012 or 2013 class (couldn't remember precisely) that had aspirations to be a chef. This is one of those less mentioned things that makes the team great and speaks well of Michigan.

Never realized what a big voice Will Campbell has.

Is it just me or does Hoke seem extra stand off-ish about Hopkins? Wonder what exactly happened there...
December 4th, 2012 at 10:13 AM ^
That is exactly how it came across. I'm guessing it wasn't handled well... something along the lines of Hoke finding out from a coach who found out via Twitter. Pure speculation of course.

It is so awesome to hear stories like the V. Smith one. As a parent I can only imagine what a giant smile parents must have when they see thier child making great decisions and excelling! These kids just continue to build on the legacy that is at Michigan. "Those that stay will be champions" rings so true.
