Patrick Hruby is doing God's work.
for the guys up in the booth to say yes thats a catch on that Roundtree TD? He actually had both feet down and I thought it would have been a TD in the NFL I think thats why Coach Hoke says its tough to win on the road in the B1G.
"I am excited to be with Brady and I am excited about where this program is headed" D C Coach Mattison
Our shoddy first quarter production falls squarely on the shoulders of our offensive line (and they were offensive), particularly the interior. The blocking was bad on every single play, with the possible exception of Gallon's Jet sweep, which was more Gallon than the blocking.
Yes, the INT was a bad decision by Devin, but one that was spurred-on by bad blocking as well. No offense and no QB could have been productive with that blocking. I'm quite sure I see why Hoke and Borges are considering changes on the line; this was a pathetic showing, especially early on.
I also agree with Al that these were not missed assignments, but missed blocks. We are making contact with players and then getting immediately shoved aside...by Minnesota. The pride of the interior O-line should be stinging badly.
Thank you, Coach Hoke, for bringing Michigan back.
I have to say, all of our skill position players played extremely well. Watching every snap you realize that Hoke is not BSing when he praises the RBs--any time there was a crease they were getting decent gains. The YPC is severly skewed by the matador-impersonating interior O-Line. Both Fitz and Rawls ran like men. With decent blocking, they both have very good days.
The QB had a very good game. He made good decisions (except for the pick) and showed that he has arm strength to burn. Considering it's his first start, he looked great. I thought Bellomy was our guy next year; it's clear that Devin has the lead in that race right now. I would probably guess Morris moves to #2 on the depth chart.
The WRs played extremely well. Roundtree saved an INT on the long underthrow and instead gave us first-and-goal. Dileo had a circus catch. But it's also nice that all of those throws were catchable. I counted zero passes to Taco Pants. In fact, of the incompletions, there were two drops, one thrown away, one INT, one throwback that was almost impossible because of the pressure, and a hard, low pass at the goal line that appeared was thrown with the "if my guy can't catch it then no one will" mentality.
Now, if we can just get the O-Line to block some people...
Thank you, Coach Hoke, for bringing Michigan back.
thanks! looking forward to the defense one as well!
