I'm not sure what is really scary about South Carolina. Especially after having faced ND & Alabama this year. Clowney is obviously the first thing to look at, but we should fare as well as anyone with the #1 tackle in the game on our side. Lattimore was the other guy that made them go. I guess I don't know what I should worry about with our defense going up against their offense without Lattimore? And I don't know what their defense can do that we haven't already faced this year while playing ND, Bama, ... and even Sparty.

i'm somewhat in agreement. i mean clowney is an absolute stud and he's a top-5 pick in the draft next year, maybe first overall, so he's a pretty big threat. other than him, i'm not sure who's on their team that i should really be worried about. connor shaw is meh, lattimore is gone. their one solid win is against georgia, but they just caught georgia on a bad day. they didn't play bama, they couldn't beat lsu, and they got a whipping from florida. they almost lost to tennessee and vanderbilt. so i think we match up better than most people think. if lewan can keep clowney in check, a big if i will admit, we've got a solid shot.

You're not worried about their defense, given that the three defenses you've mentioned held us to an average of less than 11 points per game?

I think that is precisely what does worry me. I think this is a great match-up, but I certainly don't think this game is "not scary" because we've faced tough defenses already this season.

I do not believe that anybody is claiming an easy win here.

On the other hand, this is not a win that would be some major upset for Michigan either.  In terms of strengths and weaknesses, they have a similarity to ND, though maybe not as good.  If we do not make the mistakes in this game as the ND game, it is very winable in my opinion.

What I meant is that I don't think SC's defense is anywhere near ND or Bama, they are elite. I'd put them closer to Michigan State, whom we beat. We also played all 3 of those team pre-Gardner. I would love to replay the ND game with Gardner taking snaps at QB with Denard mixed in. Basically I think we got a great matchup. I'd feel much worse if we were playing a high powered offense that would require us to score a lot of points. I think this is a game that we could win just by having the Mattison advantage. It's not unrealistic to except our defense to hold them to 10-17. I wouldn't have liked our chances against an offense like TAMU, because then we'd have to rely much more on Borges. I think they combination of Gardner and healthy Denard will get us a couple of TD's. South Carolina is a solid team, but they don't do anything that scares me.

Who is #70?

According to the official roster that would be Kristian Mateus, which doesn't make sense.

Whoever he is he is on defense because all the defenders are wearing blue in the video.

I think it's Quinton Washington. He's #76, but maybe he's wearing that jersey because his got torn or something.

Q is the only person that fits the profile of that player (other than Campbell who was featured earlier in the video).

If it's Henry, he grew 3-4 inches because MGoBlue.com lists he and Black both at 6'2.
