It shouldn't have been called...BUT I finally got up the gnads to watch the game again. And it was all on Brandon Moore.

I hate to call a kid out, but he completely blew his assignment and if he simply gets in front of the blitzer, it's a touchdown.

My biggest issue is no longer the playcall, it's Moore being in the game to begin with. I've been yelling and screaming on this board all year as to how disappointing he's been. He's gotten MANHANDLED at the line by EMU and SDSU before he was eventually benched for Watson.

I really don't like what comes across as bashing a kid who likely practices and gives his all. But Moore has been awful all year. I don't know where Mike Cox has been...but he should clear some room for Moore. Especially after that blown assignment that many point to in costing us the game. Once again, my frustration isn't over this one play. It's from seeing him miss blocks or get knocked back against far inferior competition.

The only thing I have in my mind from that play is seeing MSU's D line split, thinking that it's going to be an easy sneak for the first down and then a Denard run for a TD a couple plays later, followed by a comeback victory, then watching Denard run backward instead of forward, crying as he was sacked and then....it's all black from there. I think I'm repressing the memories.

My thing was that we were going hurry up for the whole drive and Worthy was watching from the sidelines...like you said, sneak it since they are clearly out of rhythm and keep the chains moving.

IMO (and I think I-everyones-O), we score a touchdown and the game is completely different.

That's what I meant..."getting beat" would've implied he was in position to begin with.

With that said, I don't think you can bank on Moore being back next year. A 5th year senior...no real value or production, just experience.

I could see it either way...but if you get Funchess and Williams...and now they're talking McNamara as well. I think that's the writing on the wall that we're going to take our shot with 3 freshman and Rico Miller over Moore.

Personally, I'd like to see us do less 2 TE sets...hope that one of those 2-3 freshman can play right away. Bring in a 6th lineman as the 2nd TE if we need to. But use the slot position more and the spread more next year with a senior Denard and RS Soph Devin.

"...it's not what you call, Jim, it's when you call it, and that obviously was not a good time to do what we did....That's on me. That's my fault. I've got to do a better job..."

Satisfied or do you require seppuku? Quote is at about 7:00.

Mattison "when a WR tries to block you...thats an insult"

LOL.. exactly!  well put..this is how i felt when a little WR would try to block or crack me...id just beat them in the head and get around them... that is how you approach WRs that try to block you on the perimeter.. WRs are prima donnas by nature and DBs need to realize that they are way more physical than any WR if they choose to recognize it for what it is.

It is really easy to believe that Michigan football is going to be just fine after listening to Mattison and Borges talk.  Unlike GERG who couldn't figure out <littany of items too numerous to mention, though that whole facerub d'badger tactic was something right out of a Will Farrell/Steve Carell skit> or spoke with the media, there's a clear sense of knowledge and familiarity with the process that is quite reassuring.  And interesting.  I can't believe I actually watch 50 minutes of coaches talking.  It's just enthralling.

A lot of mention of Beyer and Clark...could we start to see a consistent pass rush?

This isn't sarcasm...I'm legit asking how you guys feel about Clark and Beyer. I'm excited at the thought of them on the edge, Ryan on the other edge RVB or Black and Martin in the middle on passing downs.

Also with RVB moving back outside...let's hope and pray BWC has finally arrived. Heininger gives ya all he's got. But Campbell has some natural ability that the other Will wasn't blessed with. If he can put it all together and Beyer and Clark can give us a good speed rush in passing situations...our line just got a whole lot better.

How the hell did nobody ask about Michigan State jumping the snap count?!

Heiko: this is where you were missed, greatly.  I have no idea how the most obvious, pressing matter from the most recent game could go unaddressed.

After watching the game, IMO, it is CLEAR what happened.

This was something that was coached up and addressed in practice. We started out the game, 1st qtr, etc. in hard counts. We got worthy offsides quite a bit and even when we didn't we were able to block because they were hesitant to not jump offsides.

Once we got down/got in hurry up mode...Denard COMPLETELY forgot about this strategy. This is where someone has to tell Denard to calm down and remember his fundamentals, remember the game plan, remember what we practiced. He and Devin got so hyped up, they were just making their pre-snap reads, snapping the ball and running the play.

I was screaming at the TV even the first time I watched the game because we could've gotten 5 free yards a couple times, slowed down the pass rush AND slowed down the game to allow us to huddle up and settle things down.
