Coming off a big win over rival Michigan State and starting the season 7-0, he's gotta be optimistic about going into the bye week on 10/22...

BH should have this throat checked. One of the symptoms of throat nodules is a perpetually hoarse, scratchy-sounding voice. It's a common result of "abuse" which in the case of coaches means a lot of high-volume yelling over many years.

Like eating steel and shitting nails. My only response to anything he would ever ask of me is YES COACH as urine runs down my leg.

of "shoelaces flapping in the wind"! I could watch that 100 times and not get sick of it. At least RR got over on ND.

I am warming up to him but I wish he would stop with talking about "touching kids". That just hits the ear wrong.

It's only a matter of time until someone edits his videos to something along the lines of touching kids.
January 17th, 2011 at 10:49 AM ^
"Tremendous", "Ticked To Death", "Touch Kids".....
......they'll have to edit the next guy's interviews so they can be aired on network TV. We have this reason as well to hope the coaching situation has stabilized.

Srsly.

Holy hell , you just heard about the CC? Where did you fly in from?...mars?
I have been saying the touching thing since his press confrence announcing his hire. so I am with you Pahokee. It comes off bad. I think reaching out to kids or changing a young man's life.
Mike leach likes to touch kids as well , but even he didn't talk about it.

Too right. I will always hear loyd saying. "Well Jim , he is a tremendous young man.
You can hear a little of that in the Hokester in the interview. "This football team will do a tremendous job"

Did he have to say kissing them on the cheek after all his "touching" comments. I almost choked on my coke when he dropped that one in there.

I was not a huge fan of the hiring of Brady Hoke, but I do like a few things he focuses on including accountabilty. In 3 years RR never took the responsibility for the program that Hoke has in a week. RR blamed everyone but himself for the losses (injuries, lack of depth, yada yada yada). Hoke is taking responsibility and instilling this in the team. I like it.

RR took responsibility, too. He never tried to make excuses but did try to answer questions honestly. You might take into consideration that he did not ever have 20 starters returning or, for that matter, ever even start a quarterback who had a year of experience as a starter. It's possible to pull for Hoke without trying to cut down RR, who is young enough to still find a lot of success down the road wherever he winds up and who would in all likelihood have won at least 9 games here this year.

Cut Hoke a break.... he runs a football team, not the Vatican.

I really like Brady Hoke and think it is a good hire. I believe these kids are gonna play hard for him and Brady will get the Michigan tradition restored back in Ann Arbor.
January 17th, 2011 at 11:44 AM ^
I wanted to keep Rrod and did not want to hire Hoke...but as I move on, there is one thing that is clear. Hoke loves the tradition and the University and while all coaches have significant pride in their accomplishments, it is clear that Hoke has pride in Michigan's past and feels a greater sense of responsibility because of that. Still have no idea how he'll do but he saying a lot of the right things that Rrod never did. (I know, Brian, it is all buttery)
January 17th, 2011 at 11:57 AM ^
I don't care of he actually does touch the kids... As long as we win.
Not really, but u know....

about the recruiting class, but skeptical for now. Work is stacking up all over the place in that regard.

I think that Coach Hoke really does get Michigan football and understands what a privilege it is to be able to represent Michigan. I hope that this translates into success on the football field. It does not matter how nice of a guy he is because if he does not win games he will eventually be gone. With so many returning starters next season I hope this does not turn into a Charlie Weis situation. Early success with returning upperclassmen that is not able to be replicated when all the experienced players leave. I know that Weis had to start Jimmah as a true freshman so that certainly didn't help. DG is waiting in the wings so that will be a positive. I really want to see Coach Hoke do well. Go Blue!
