Video: 1993 NCAA Final - Fab Five vs. North Carolina
Why Webber? Why? Why? Why?
I asked that for years. It was pain beyond pain. But in the end, that bonehead move did us a favor. Having a national championship vacated would have been infinite torture.

Granted it was a mistake, but his bench was not helping him out. At the time, I thought Jalen should have been more aggressive in coming back for the ball to help him out.
It would have been rough, but ultimately how much should NCAA bureaucracy control one's happiness?
Had they won, nothing would have vacated my championship t-shirt. Nothing would have vacated my memories of going to the parade and the rally.
Well, I'm ready for the 30/30 tonight.
I had the VHS of this game for years. Never watched it. Never seen a replay. Imagine a bad trip: you know, the one when you're sitting on top of that hill in Burns Park, rocking back and forth while imagining dead grandparents and pets you couldn't take care of? That's what watching this game was like. I hate the memory of this game. Hate. It.
This was the first college basketball game I ever watched live. I had no idea how big it was at the time.

I was known as Timmy Timeout for the rest of High School days because of that game. Growing up in southern Ohio I was the only UM fan so...
I really hope all the renewed interest in the Fab Five means the Big Ten Network will start showing these games in their classic series. That they refuse to is a disgrace.
Memo to BTN: No one gives a shit about Minnesota/Purdue games from '99. We want to see the Fab Five.
