This is a year old... Got a huge discussion thread last year when the Dean of the School of Music asked it be pulled from the internet because it wasn't "polished" or a formal performance or some such thing.

I'm a mom and am barely able to understand Snapchat, much less embed anything.

It was on the page when I went to watch the OP post-which I had seen last year, but still enjoy. This one is called Denard Robinson, and it's by the Friars, from 2011. I haven't seen it, and there's a little cheesy intro, but the song is pretty awesome.

I love Denard so much...then and still.

I love this.  Makes me smile everytime I listen.

"Where have you gone Terrelle Pryor, was passing classes just too hard for you, you piece of poo..What's that you say Jim Tressel, did Walmart have a greeters job for hire, liar liar, vest on fire" ...in the style of Mr. Robinson if you didn't listen. CLASSIC!

I was about to comment on the title. "Hail to...." is one of my (get off my lawn) pet peeves.

But it is a cool, joyous video. Thanks for posting.

Don't care that it was already posted.  It kicked fucking ass last year and still does.  I'll listen every time it comes up.

Heard this before, and glad to hear it again. That's a heartfelt singing of The Victors.

U of M Health System has a downloadable music only version which is my ringtone.

Part of me tends to think that pulling a rendition of "The Victors" from MGoBlog would somehow amount to sacrilege. I think we can leave this here despite the age of the content posted, unless of course the Musical Theatre department chair would like to come down again. I assume they wouldn't be looking for it now, of course.

Band geek parties... Love it! That's a version I hadn't heard before, and it's great. Of course, the source material is pretty good.

I never quite understood the problem with this video in the first place, and I still don't. Sure, from a fussy music professor's point of view, it's not the most polished performance of the World's Greatest Fight Song. And sure, it's a year old.

But it sure is fun to watch, just like watching The Muppets sing "Temptation." That's not the greatest rendition of that song either, and it's much older. But when Brian posts it, we all sure enjoy the hell out of it.

In fact, I wouldn't be adverse to seeing this video along with The Muppets whenever good stuff happens.
