Very OT: Wal-Mart having sweet sale on XBox 360s (and other assorted things) This Saturday

Submitted by bouje on
For all of you who have yet to upgrade to a PS3, XBox, or Blu-ray player Wal-Mart this weekend is having a great sale. Supposedly every weekend from now until Black Friday they are going to have a big sale on large items to break up craziness of Black Friday and to spread out the deals. The big deal this weekend is buy an XBox 360 arcade for $199 and get a 100$ gift card. So in sum if you have a kid that you need to shop for or if you just like new expensive toys this weekend might be a good time to get it. http://www.walmart.com/christmasshop?adid=1500000000000006820330

Let me see.. "If we had a better coach, would we be better" Hmmm...no first-year gaffe at DC. CHECK Hmmm...no having two defensive coaches coach positions they've never coached before. CHECK Hmmm...Possibly staving off some (or most) of the attrition so you don't have to start firt-timers at quarterback two seasons in a row. CHECK Hmmm...showing no imrovement at all and being the worst team in the Big Ten right now (unless you count Indiana). CHECK Hmmmm...getting worse as the season progresses. CHECK Look bouje, I hate to say this, and I know it's totally radical, but yes, a better coach with a better coaching staff WOULD make Michigan a better team right now and beyond! CRAZY! I KNOW! But enjoy your XBox and being the Michigan team and having them beat up the teams they can't beat in real life. Like MSU and Illinois.

We've shown no improvement from Year 1 to Year 2? What QB are you talking about? Threet or Mallett? If you're talking about Mallett he was gone no matter who the coach was after Mustain left Arkansas. If you're talking about Threet.. Um no offense against Threet but do you really think he could beat out either Tate or Denard? This team has a lot of problems most of them are not on the coaching staff. If you honestly think that firing our coaches and getting new ones would be a good thing then you need to get your head examined.

for those of you who have ps3's, what's your opinion of the online play sony provides? I've never been a fan of playstation and I really really like xbox live and all the cool things they have done with it (netflix streaming, party chat w/ friends, etc). Does sony have anything that even compares when it comes to playing online?

And mostly use it as a Blu-Ray player. With that said I have downloaded old video games off of the playstation store (which is really cool) and PS3 will also be coming out with streaming NetFlix soon. The best part about the PS3 online gaming experience is that it is free compared to XBox. The main reason why I did not get an XBox is because I do not enjoy First Person Shooters on consoles because I always played Half-Life and all of the different versions and can't get use to looking around on consoles. For me the PS3 is the better console although a lot of people seem to differ.

PS3 has the PS Store and online gaming just like the Xbox 360, it doesn't have netflix, and I don't think it has attempted to replace the chat room (How do you have a party chat over Live? If everyones talking you don't understand anyone, must have some friends with some good sense of order). But, the PS3 and Xbox 360 are the same when you get down to the games. Don't switch if you already have one. And my advice for buying one is get the one that most of your friends have, that's the most important thing (at least to me). I've had both, I notice no difference.

Back to the original post, the $199 is now the set price for the arcade XBox 360; the deal is the $100 gift card. My 360 crapped out...right after I bought Fight Night Round 4 and NCAA 10. Sucks. If I can connect my old hard drive, I might do this, although it's a hike to get to Wal Mart from where i live in the city. Thanks for the head's up, though.

the 360 hard drive is detachable, all you have to do is press the little button at the end of it and it'll pop out, then you can put it in any other 360...ps if you got the ring of death, i had that too and just took it to some guy on craigslist who fixed it for me for $20 same day

real deal is the 42 inch Sharp Aquos 1080 p LCD TV for only $498.00. This TV is usually listed for $750.00. I might have to look into that deal.

but the fine print says minimum 10 per store, I think they will be gone in the first 10 min of store opening as for the Q re: ps3 online play, it is free but imo stinks the UI is underdeveloped and it does not seem impt to sony to invest in it; I have the xbox 360 elite too, xbox live is $40 for yr and my friends really enjoy, you can also upgrade your avatar with UM clothes which is pretty cool if this causes Amazon to offer gift cards too that would be nice, they have been having good deals on video games recently

Yeah, there will probably only be 10 per store. Nobody really buys the arcade, so stores generally don't have huge stocks of them lying around. It's still a good deal, but an even better deal if you use that $100 gift card to buy the necessary Xbox Hard drive and get COD MW2. Since there's absolutely no margin in the Xbox itself, Walmart will actually lose something like $80 in the exchange.
