Very optimistic

I watched the 1997 M v OSU game on ESPN the other day. Even though that was one of my favorite teams I was reminded of what "Big Ten Football" really was all about. It was huge linemen, slow backs, Qb's that managed games and strong defense. I'm watching Wisconsin and Northwestern right now and it brought home to me that the old Big Ten Football doesn't win outside the Big Ten anymore. There's a reason OSU loses in bowl games and the B10 bowl record usually isn't good. I believe that RR is going to make M into a team that wins bowl games consistently. We're seeing the pieces of that now. Roundtree and Smith are players without a doubt. Next year we will see if Tate is a player or not, he shows signs but being so young he makes a lot of mistakes. I think that the D showed us today what they are capable of doing. Sure, some changes need to be made and some new players to come in. If the D even becomes adequate next year, I see 8 wins. For now until the spring game we only have hope. I, for one, will continue to believe that M is destined for greatness under RR. There seems to be plenty of room on the bandwagon for anyone who wants to get aboard.
