Value City Arena roll call
Who else is going to be in the belly of the beast? Tickets are 10 dollars and we have a good shot of winning.

I smile/wince every time I see "Value City Arena." It's probably a matter of time until the Horseshoe is renamed Dollar Tree Stadium.

"Aldi Coliseum"

Dollar tree is much worse. Aldi is German, so...

What the fuck does Aldi being German have to do with anything?
They're both peice of shit low-end value stores.
Don't try to put lipstick on that pig.

Aldi is actually pretty awesome. Almost all of their stuff is better than meijer generics

I agree. Aldi is pretty good. Found some decent stuff there.
February 14th, 2016 at 4:50 PM ^
I don't mind Aldi, either.
February 14th, 2016 at 4:57 PM ^
Aldi is an amazing grocery store. Take a look at Business Insider's newest article. We do a majority of our shopping there.

Do most of my shopping at Aldi. The wife introduced me to that place and it is decent. Still won't buy generic ketchup. Life is too short to not eat Heinz.

This is the best post I've seen all weekend. I kept hearing about all of the wonderful deals they have. After driving by the one in my neighborhood for 8 years, I finally stopped in. First off I couldn't figure out how to unhook the shopping cart and didn't have a quarter. So, off I went into the store with no cart. I find a couple things (asparagus, a pineapple, and some sweet peppers), that are nicely priced. I'm not at all impressed with the rest of everything else they have to offer and feel dirty just for being in there. Anyway, I get to the checkout counter scan my credit card and get declined as they only take cash or debit card. Didn't have either. That was 20 minutes of my life I will never get back.
February 14th, 2016 at 9:00 PM ^
I'm totally cool with the store not getting the patronage of people who can't operate a shopping cart or carry a debit card. You should totally feel dirty for being in there; you're obviously in a class above all that.
In seriousness, what I really like about the store is the time savings. I don't have to wade through 15 different brands of organic pine nuts to find the damn rice I'm looking for. And then as a bonus I save 30 bucks a trip for the exact same stuff I would have gotten at Meijer, with the exception of a very few things.

Aldi definately has it's quirks, but its a pretty quick stop and it's cheap. A plus for those with kids.

"Big Lots Coliseum"

That's how I feel about Louisville. Football at Papa John's Stadium and basketball at the KFC Yum Center.
What's the name of their baseball field? Taco Bell Park?

They hit home runs for the border.

KFC Yum Center is almost as bad as the Smoothie King Center lol

Coliseum or Charmin Field. .. .

more low-rent sounding, but we should have a contest. The Myrtle's Vittles and Pawn Arena? The Stop & Shop Center?
February 14th, 2016 at 4:21 PM ^
Value City Arena? I could google it I guess

Too bad the Value City closed near me. Actually I liked that store.

Said no one ever.

A win down there would be big in my opinion. The season is winding down and one more win would pretty much make Michigan a lock for the dance. 2-3 over the next five games is not to much to ask for.

Value city? That's the best sponsor they could find?
February 14th, 2016 at 4:44 PM ^
I thought value city shut down how can they afford naming rights to an arena?
February 14th, 2016 at 5:05 PM ^
According to my brief search, it looks like Value City was formerly affiliated with Value City Furniture store and owner, Jerome Schottenstein. VCF seems to be the corporate sponsor of the OSU arena. The full name is Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.
February 14th, 2016 at 5:20 PM ^
"was formerly"
So they are affiliated now?
Sent from MGoBlog HD for iPhone & iPad
February 14th, 2016 at 6:26 PM ^
As I read it, the two companies were affiliated, but Value City is now out of business. Only VCF exists now.
February 15th, 2016 at 6:53 AM ^
Oh, well you said "was formerly," which means they are currently affiliated.
February 14th, 2016 at 7:10 PM ^
Thank god we didn't sell naming rights or else it woulda been "the Stephen Ross Dolphinarium at Crisler Center"
February 14th, 2016 at 5:04 PM ^

That is one problem with some stadiums that have upper decks. Michigan' stadium is perfect.

Right now methinks they're out of the tournament unless they either win out or win most of their remaining games and have a strong showing in the BTT. Neither of which are likely to happen.
Very few signature wins, several bad losses, and some horrendous looking blowouts. Cap that with the fact that they've still got to play Iowa, and then MSU twice, all of which are likely losses for them.
