Valenti Monday

Submitted by Geaux_Blue on

First caller said Valenti was a piece of shit (no censor) for his prediction within 5 seconds of his call. Missed Mike's rant.

Yeah, it's really insincere.  By taking the tactic of just prostrating himself and taking whatever beatings come, he's just copping out again.  He didn't show up after M beat Sparty in January and now, by not fighting back, he's not showing up again.  He's on air challenging the M fanbase on not being bombastic enough toward him and you know his ulterior motive is to make us look bad and cast us in the worst light possible.  He's such a coward.

You nailed it when you brought up his ulterior motive.  It's one of the reasons I stopped listening to him.   I never listened to him and Terry religiously.  Just once in a while.  But I can rarely ever remember a time when he even took a call from a Michigan fan with half a brain who could easily challenge him on the crap he spews.  It seemed pretty obvious that he and the call screener had a rule to let only the dumbest callers in so he can go off, be "funny," and use these people as proof that all Wolverine fans are idiots.

We used to have alternatives like Stoney and Wojo or Dennis Fithian (or Karsh before him) on WTKA.  I will not listen to Valenti at all and will avoid that channel at all cost when he is on.

The problem is you have Jeff Defran on WTKA who while more of a Michigan supporter is considerably dumber than Valenti and I can't listen to him.

This is not the golden age of Detroit sports radio...

@: When choosing between a great season and a great program, I will always choose the program.

@MOE'S_DAD: When choosing between a great university and Sparty, there is no choice.

Best line from Valenti so far is.........'Michigan would win 10 out of 10 times if they played. Good luck in the NCAA Tournament, Michigan. I will be watching from a far as MSU is catching three points from Drexel in the NIT

I'm at the point now that if I hear his voice, I want to punch something.  So even after a victory and season sweep, I still can't tune in.

However, for those who are listening, I would like to know if Valenti brings up Izzo's hypocritical crying over "running up the score" in the final seconds.

terry had "envelopes of knowledge" or something to that effect which I think Mike was feeding him (Mike's thoughts that Terry was reading) and one of them said "if you have a problem with the Morris layup don't count fake tripe doubles, don't leave your starters in when you're up 30 and don't do half court alley-oops"

"I'm done going into these games and expecting wins."

The real bonus from the sweep:  we have taken their confidence from them.  Nothing is more pleasant than a humbled Spartan fan.

From the amount of whining and complaing from MSU boosters and fans...holy crap.

I mean I get mad when M looses but RCMB is just ridiculous right now, and the amount of people calling Morris a show boat and how classless that last layup was is equaly as hypocritcal.

At some point you just start to sound like a bad loser, you PWN'd us for a decade and we just blew up your battleship with our 1st 5 shot's so take it on the chin and like it.

With 11 seconds left, he's just trying to keep from getting fouled. He runs down the court missing fouls and by the time he gets to the other end, there is a lane to the basket. How can he not take that? If MSU is still trying, then he should still be trying, right?

He just came out of the break with:

"This, a day of reckonning.  Michigan fan has earned the right to verbally assail me.  Your team soundly beat us.  My prediction was pure fallicy."

LOL.  It honestly feels like I'm listening to a eulogy.  Only I'm laughing.

It really amazes me that radio stations and newspapers hire people with such a deep dislike (jealousy) for Michigan.  They lose a massive amount of business by pissing off fan bases this much.  You'd think they'd be more balanced and have someone representing both schools.  Oh well.  Talk radio is the trash bottom of the barrel media anyway.

I was just on the show defending Darius Morris. :)  My talking points were from Brian's post.  FTR, Valenti agreed with me. BOOM MGoBlog'd

I just heard you on the radio and wondered if that was you.  Valenti at least took the rational side and called out Sparty nation for being whiners and hypocrites regarding Morris.

As long as everyone is tuning in to hear him get a "beating" his ratings look that much better. For a guy who no one seems to like the ratings for his show sure tell a different story.

I highly doubt he really gives a rip about who won as long as he gets listeners than he gets paid and I am pretty sure that is all he really cares about.

btw, the Valenti threads he see's when he travels the michigan boards only confirms that you do listen and his style works to keep you listening....
