Took Va Tech. 56% of public on Boise yet line moves 4 points in favor of Tech. Some one with a lot of money must know something the general public does not. Might be wrong but I will pay to find out.
Va Tech/Boise 2nd Half Line/Open Thread
Sure, we can move over here, but am I the only one who uses the "recent posts" tab instead of the "MGoBoard" tab? I thought everyone did that.
You'd be surprised how many people are slow to make the transition.
jamiemac, i'm moving over here just to demand an answer to my question from the other thread. In Pick4, what did most people choose for tonight's pick? Did they think Moore would throw an interception or not?
Sorry i didnt get back to you. my blog helper has that info so I dont have it right now
I took Yes
No problem, I was just kidding. The other thread was getting pretty long. This was a good idea.
I also took Yes, and I overestimated the offensive abilities for week 1. I'm worried that I'll be looking at a 1-3 hole to start the year. There were a couple of almost interceptions that needed to be converted and now they're running out of time.
Eh, i just wanted a straw poll on the second half line
and then I envisioned a third de facto open thread breaking out. i would pass out trying to play in all three, lol
I got kicked off the site and it took 20 mins to get back on.
I think the site crashed.
I must be posting too much.........
i went to delete the thread because it did seem like the other two were going strong enough. like you said, recent posts. Didnt need the straw poll anymore anyway
I thougth I accidently pressed the delete site buttong or something. Or at least I was scared to death something like that existed and I pressed it. lo
"delete site button" Heh. Oh man, you would have made Bartman look like the first citizen of Chicago!
In the meantime, this game has turned into a knockdown dragout fight. VT by 1 point right now. The 4th quarter ought to be furious.
Ouch! Missed FG by BSU.
Kicker had been perfect up to that point. Got to get the snap there or it doesn't matter how good he is.
What a weird musical pick for the band.
Sick play there by Tyrod, keeping his balance with the back of his hand.
Huge drop by the VT receiver and VT has to settle for the fieldgoal. That means that BSU can score a touch down and be up by a fieldgoal. Should be interesting.
Looks like it might have been a fake...but delay of game instead.
If BSU somehow wins this game, was this style enough to impress voters? Assuming they will be outta sight outta mind later on in the season. I say NO
I was very angry the first half but I was impressed that Virginia Tech showed some pride and came back to take the lead.
Hopefully VT holds on :)
Tick tock. Things are looking bad for BSU.
See if Boise can go Tom Brady here
VT throws on 3rd and 8 with 2 minutes left and BSU out of timeouts?? Dumb.
So they didnt see a clip after all?
LOCK DOWN on Defense Please
BSU already in VT territory down to the 40. Dumb call for VT on 3rd down led to this.
Ugh. Late hit. Here we go...
Suspect call at best
That's kind of a BS late hit call. Weak whistle by the official and the WR is still running forward like the play is live. At this point in the game it seems weak to call something of that magnitude.
BIG TEN OFFICIALS!
That's a weak sauce late hit call. The kid barely stepped out and was 1 foot out of bounds...
And we should know.
VT outcoaches themselves and BSU scores.
WOW JUST WOW
It's a real shame this drive started from the 44. Just excellent FP
Remember when Beamer went for 2 at the end of the 3rd?
Interesting series of plays. No call on the block in the back. Call on a late hit that was fairly borderline. No call after the WR spikes the ball after the TD.
please let this game go into overtime.
Please no, I have work tomorrow.
This has been a hell of a matchup!
Perfect execution of a two minute drill.
So Boise wins this game and they are looking at a spot in the NC? Give me a break.
Yeah really. Both teams strike me as the kind that should be ranked in say the 15-20 range. They've both made a number of mistakes you don't see out of true Top 10 tens.
It's week 1. I do wish they played another huge game this year. I'd love to see them play a top team from a bigger conference. That said I mean they have to play the teams that will play them.
If they stay undefeated and other teams slip up? Sure, I guess. I do wish they could play a PAC 10 schedule or something.
VT ball on the 35 with 1:02 left. There is still time.
Field goal? Touchdown? Even my girlfriend is interested in this game. (she is normally only moderately interested in football if it's a Michigan game).
Touchdown BSU. They are up 33-30 with 46 seconds left.
propose to her now
Well, what a disappointment
Barring a miracle I am not too optimistic
Refs owe Tech a flag, here it comes.
4th and long now for VT. This could be the game.
Boise State is going to win.
Good game man, they come into a packed VT house, blow a 17 pt game, and then come back and win it. Got a lot of poise, this team.
National Championship worthy team?
No way. BSU would never survive the Big 10 or the SEC or the Big 12.
I would be very curious to see them try, actually. I think they would survive and be in the top half of the league but I'm not sure I'd have them to win it.
If they can only be in the top half of the league, then they wouldn't be National Championship game worthy. They are ok, but I think VT screwed up more than BSU won it. That was some baaaaaad coaching.
Wow if VaTech's WRs could catch the ball they'd have a 2-3 TD lead.
Game over. Beamer lost this one by being stupid. Thanks for nothing. Now he can do the decent thing by losing the rest of his games.
Sorry Boise, this doesn't get you into the NC game. You went to sleep for 2.5 quarters and VA Tech didn't put you away. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, hell, most teams would put you away.
Wait so they didn't play for half the game and still won? What if they actually played for a full game? I'd say that'd get you into the NC game...
Being a VA Tech student, I'm guessing you know just as well as anyone else that Beamer Ball lost this game, rather than Boise winning it.
I respect Boise's ability and I think they are a very good team. If they win out, or even if they lose a game, they deserve to be in a BCS bowl. However, the national champion should be a team that had to compete just about every week to get into that game, not for three weeks out of the year.
That is true. I don't know what exactly happened to Boise but I agree Tech lost the game. But Alabama last year played bad many times, they almost lost to Tennessee, LSU, and Auburn. It is slightly different that Boise doesn't have as many chances for the good wins so they need to really step up but in the end they still won. I can't help but root for these non-BCS teams. I don't understand why everybody hates them so much. Underdog stories are awesome.
jeeez do brent and herbie work for BSU public relations or marketing team?
I think ESPN has figured out it's useful to have a BCS buster every year. Some Cinderella type story to talk about on Sports Center and use to get ratings. It looks like Boise gets to try on the glass slipper this year.
Hypin' the story for the week. Get used to it, cuz this one will be around all year. Or until they trip up against the likes of the Nevada Wolfpack or something.
Wasn't Boise favored to win this game? Why are Herbie and Musburger acting like Douglas just knocked out Tyson?
Also, congrats to the VaTech offense for going into total panic and just throwing deep strikes without any regard to getting a first down or trying for the FG. If your entire 1 minute drill is low percentage deep balls to WRs with stone hands, you need to rewrite that section of the playbook.
You mean they won a game they were favored to win?
They were actually the underdog according to Vegas.
That is, in addition to Wyoming and Fresno State. Go Beavers.
The Beavers can't seem to ever put it together until October. They're also breaking in a new quarterback. I'd be very surprised if they beat Boise State.
Boise State is a very good team, no doubt, but the whole play one big game to start the season, then cruise to undefeated thing is getting old.
Michigan vs Boise St in the MNC. Perhaps The Knowledge was on to something...
