UTL II Hype video- My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark

Submitted by UMxWolverines on

I just got done with my hype video and I figured I would post it here to see what you guys think. I'm not the best at making videos, but oh well. The song is what gets me. I'd be thrilled if they played it during the game.

You should try adding more suspense before the Roundtree catch.  Maybe stop the song and switch to the live audio.  That's the part that really gets me.  Good video though!

I was going to complain about how unforgivably terrible Fall Out Boy is and how playing a song of theirs in the Big House would be a crime against 113,000 ears, but then I remembered every other song Special K plays.

...criticism.

  • Thematics. Only use night game and Notre Dame imagery. Flyover and other daytime stadium clips and non-ND game highlights don't fit.
  • UTL highlights. Jarring to see highlights out of order. Recommend either chronological highlights or sections featuring big hits/crushing blocks and big plays/scoring plays.
  • Needs a villain. Purple faced Brian Kelly would do nicely.
  • Needs moar Tommy Rees fumble pass.

I may not be with the in crowd these days....but whatever song that is. Its terrible and im sick of seeing it on all of the hype videos.

Will be "Turn the Night Up" by Enrique Iglesias. Also, what are the board's thoughts on coming up with a new song to chant to instead of "7 Nation Army"? I like it, but it's so played out and I feel like its not original. I always thought the chant in the Kanye West song "Power" would be solid. What say you?

The formatting kills it.... and you need some different camera angles/view points/scenery shots instead of just 10-15 second telecast chunks.  A for effort, just a little constructive criticism.

I liked it. Only criticism I can think of is that the highlights don't seem to coincide with the song at all. For instance, in a lot of highlight videos, they'll have a big hit, or catch, or something in time with the base dropping, etc. As such, it seemed less like a highlight video and more like me watching a bunch of random highlights with fallout boy in the background. Other than that, though, nice job.
