My brother put together this pretty sweet highlight video for the 2011 UTL game. Fans of Explosions of the Sky or Friday Night Lights (the movie) will probably enjoy this.

I could watch this a million times

This music is not football music

Maybe it's just because I have seen Friday Nigh Lights 8,457 times, but every time hear that, I get goosebumps thinking of walking out of the tunnel onto the field.
2011 Nebraska State Champ "We're Michigan." @tannerwooten not that funny, though.
What is football music? Rawk or Bubba Sparxx "Back in Da Mud" Madden 04 Remix....?
You're HIV-Aladeen.
too sure about all of that, but this is definetly football music.
On the fifth night—possibly the sixth—a breeze arose.
It was cool and dewy.
I love that band.

Beautiful.
Never have seen the ESPN opener before. Good work
this is fucking fantastic
"This is MICHIGAN fergodsakes"
Holy crap I must be even Mgrowolder than I thought. Based on the comments I'm expecting some pretty sweet highlights (check) with some either thumping guitar or bass riff to get you all fired up. Granted it's by a band I've never heard of but hey, I'm 52 and that's to be expected.
But instead it sounds more to me like music my brother the dentist would pipe into his office to calm nervous patients down. Sorry guys but if this hipster "pump up" music to you it sure explains to me anyways a pretty massive generational gap in being pumped.
Just watch the movie Friday Night Lights. As a football fan, you will surely enjoy it and then you will forever understand why this band is associated with football. It's the contrast of the of the music with the heavy hitting and action that provides a certain gravitas to the spectacle.
Those are big words for a guy who revved his engine by listening to Fireside Chats and the Ink Spots...
Very good, I'm a big fan of Friday Night Lights (movie and the show...well, season 1 of the show) so the music is good.
One thing that I'd say is the music stops making sense after ND goes up 14-0. I would suggest changing the song to something more upbeat when Michigan (FINALLY) starts making plays and coming back.
You get the build up of all of the stuggles Michigan had...and then Michigan gets the ball and you get excited they're making plays but the music doesn't match the mood. When it finally does pick up, ND is making plays again.
It kind of gets back on track when Michigan is down 24-7 and coming back, but then loses it again when Denard makes the long pass to Hemingway around the 6:30 mark and the music is slow again even though the play is awesome and Hemingway is going nuts.
One thing I'd suggest is fading the music out and just going with the broadcast for plays like this. That way when the play is over you can get to a more upbeat part of the song.
Love these videos! But if it's going to be FNL quality I think it has to match the video a little better. Using the actual game audio helps you do this. Just my opinion.
“True loyalty is that quality of service that grows under adversity and expands in defeat. Any street urchin can shout applause in victory, but it takes character to stand fast in defeat. One is noise — the other, loyalty.”
WIN, this video is!
"We can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back. Into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch at a time."
Very nice!
I wish somebody could invent a time machine so I could use it and go to this game.
Go Blue! Always!
I could watch this game a thousand times and still marvel at the result. Denard's fumble grab for a TD, the "thing" Rees "threw" backwards for a fumble. There can be only one conclusion: some force in the universe is not a Notre Dame fan. And this makes me very happy.
I have enjoyed EITS since I saw them open for Pumpkins. After they played we didn't stay very long, Billy's whining was anticlimatic after EITS.
I loved the video. It was tasteful and artful.
i remember this game and being so excited and adrealine rush that i couldn't go to bed haha...
I was so drunk after the first 3 quarters of fail..... Suposubly I went to hi five my dad after the touchdown at the end.... We hit eachother in the face (I do not remember this but I guess my sister had her cell phone recording at the time.....)
I was at the game with my Dad and we did not get home until 3am. I still could not sleep. I think I stayed up for another hour and watched the final thirty seconds of the game over and over again. What an awesome day.
"But in the tire fire that was last year's secondary he showed a little spark." - Brian Cook
There are so many better songs from Explosions, if you wanted to stay in the instrumental realm i'd suggest God is an Astronaut - Zodiac, it's got a little faster pace which would work for a highlight reel.
Blank.....Blank......You're not looking at the big picture here.
You do that, you go to South Bend, you know. one year, by yourself, you know and you feel shame, you know. And then you get free.
Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.
What an incredibly beautiful way to commemorate a game I will never forget. I think I just got choked up...
Protip: Wait, I can't think of a protip... please make more videos.
Name of the song please and thank you.

Doesn't get any better than this, thanks!
"Gentelmen, this is football"
Thanks to everyone who watched this video and gave me some feedback. I spent a lot of time putting it together and the response has been great. Looking into making another one soon, GO BLUE!
"I'm good in Scrabble"
What a game! What a memory! What a team!!! I wish it never ended...UTL is something I will remember and tell stories about. Hail! Hail!
And when we play as a team, when the old season is over, you and I know it’s going to be Michigan again. Michigan!
