USC vs BC
It's 17-13 in the late third quarter, and SC just caught a BREAK. Punt returner came up and accidentally kicked the ball, BC recovered, but it was ruled a no go, as the referees said he was blocked into the ball. I did not realize it mattered even if you were blocked into the ball. Regardless, good game so far.

Doesn't matter, they missed a FG

Field position and momentum are totally different. That was a BS call. USC players already get cars. They don't need any other gifts.

This has turned out to be a much better game than I thought. I figured USC would be up by two touchdowns by now.

the refereeing in this game has been HIGHLY questionable.
that guy wasn't blocked into the ball. he was engaged in a block he moved forward into the ball. he was just unaware it was in front of his foot.
there was a USC pass out of bounds that was reviewed and ruled a catch too.
pretty weak stuff.

The BC quarterback is not having a good game, to put it mildly.

yeah, so i know i just complained about the officiating but i think the bigger beef here is with the BC QB.
wow, this guy looks AWFUL!

To be fair he's only freshmen. Albeit a 25 year old freshmen, but still.

I cannot believe the blatant USC bias the officiating crew has shown in this game. From the generous ball spotting to the ridiculous booth-reviewed plays. I'm surprised Coach Spaz hasn't burst a blood vessel.

Game over. Gotta "What if?" with a few of those bad calls.

me a little solace seeing Barkley struggle. Even at USC freshmen play like 18 year olds...

AFAIC, the officiating sucked, but so did both teams. I don't think either team deserved to play in a bowl game. USC tried to give the game back to BC, and BC said, "no, thanks; you can have it." Both teams demonstrated why they weren't playing on NYD or better this year. This game started out as an intriguing matchup, but ended up a snoozer.
Is crisp execution too much to ask from an early bowl game?

I definitely prefer this meaningless game held in a baseball stadium tainted by Barry Bonds where there's only one weird sideline to the alternative of a college football playoff. Oh wait...
At least the trophy looks unique.
