USC loses all of the wins during the 2007-08 season and gets hit with a scholarship reduction. These are "self-imposed" sanctions.

This is a big deal. Their current team looks like it might have made the NCAA tournament this year.
The fact that they self-imposed these penalties is very ominous with regards to the violations that are going to turn up. I'm trying my best not to enjoy it, but I'm failing in this regard.

All that and he stayed one year. now the current players are punished while Mayo gets payed millions of dollars. Why would they take a chance like that?

and Joe Knight, I'll pay attention. Slapping the basketball program is releatively meaningless. When was the last time USC basketball was really significant on the college hoops landscape?...uh...yeah, I thought so.
This is just so they can say they "were penalized" Total BS.
