Great run of play right there.
Great run of play right there.
Headline: Estadio Azteca Crumbles in 2012
Yeah that was a terrible call by the ref.
On the verge of history. Hold on for 6 more minutes!
Shit, that was close.
I <3 Tim Howard
that stop by Howard was right at the end of the "Big 5" Can't possibly quntify the importance of that save
Finally!! Joe Benny.
Holy shit, Howard....
A BEAST!!!!!!!!!! WOW
Let's win this game!
"Not a very artful ball." Could Ian do american football games? It would seem to dilute the oppressive meatheadedness.
Remember the Alamo and forget Chicharito!
OMG WE WON IN AZTECA!!!!
INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! USA USA USA USA USA USA USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very pretty goal, too.
Big day for the US men's soccer team
Brazil is next lol
the streaks are bound to be broken. great team win for USA!
Klinsman literally stole the words right of my mouth.
What else can you say but...
USA USA USA...
and hope this will put us on a streak of good play. Brek Shea's buildup was brilliant and luckily we smashed it home. Howard was playing like a man possessed for the last 10 minutes. Good result and always good to break a bad streak.
Why doesn't Shea start every game? He seems to really bring a spark on offense that no one else on the US team brings.
Apparently he's up and down. But when he's up, he just attacks and goes right through defenders, e.g., the goal in this tilt. I've not seen other American players do that.
He's had a terrible year so far. Some of this is his fault (not a lot of maturity in some ways), but a lot is FC Dallas' fault--he's surrounded by terrible teammates and a whiny martinet of a coach.
Showered with beer by angry Mexican fans as USA win at Azteca for first time I think it was beer anyway.
Historic win. Great defense. Didn't think USA would pull it off and they did that was a great match to watch.
It was ugly. The USA definately did not deserve that win, but I will take it. First win at Estadio Azteca; very cool.
soccer is a sport where you can control the game, make 1 mistake, and lose.
To say that the US didn't deserve the win is ignorant and stinks of horse shit. We played great defense (especially Geoff Cameron), Tim Howard made career-highlight saves, and Brek Shea made a phenomal play on the wing that led to a goal.
We didn't control the game, but we earned that W.
Can they do something about those damn green lasers that they keep pointing in Howards eye? Or is that his inner Hulk coming out?
That was such bullshit by a bunch of putos. May they blind themselves with their own lasers. So glad we won.
I suppose FIFA could fine the Mexican soccer federation, which could put pressure on the stadium to do something.
From USSoccer.com quotes:
U.S. goalkeeper TIM HOWARD On the distractions created by the crowd:
I think it's the less you pay attention the better. If you start calling attention to it, it seems like more lasers come out. Trying to get them to stop would be futile. It's part of the game now, you hope that the stadium and FIFA do something about it, but we don't expect it and just get on with it.
