/lol
There was probably one guy who voted for Illinois. But he's from Chicago so he voted seven times.
Notre Dame being overrated in the preseason football polls.
looking at 2015 as the year they could legimately compete for an NC. Not sure if they were counting on Golson at that point. Hoping the irish fail miserably of course.
Every team is overrated in the pre-season polls. The whole idea of giving a value to a team before they have played their first game is stupid and it keeps good teams down.
These lists shouldn't come out until week 3. Otherwise it's just an artificial prop-up of "traditional" teams that lasts all season.
but I'd be willing to meet you at Week 4.
I am pretty comfortable with Ohio State's ranking.
I agree completely, we were unranked going in to the 97 season.
Here is someone who thinks that they are not rated high enough....
Notre Dame at 11? Are you kidding me?
I'm guessing Harbaugh is the only guy to vote for Michigan ...
is returning 20 starters. I hate ND as much as the next guy, but they should be very good this year.
So they return a lot of players, but they also return players that were better than the guys that played last year. ND has a decent chance of beating every team on their schedule (not saying they go undefeated, but I don't see a team that I'd put money down to beat them).
MSU #6? Not that it really matters at this point, but when a team loses a good chunk of its D, its D coordinator and RB, and has to play difficult road games. Well, I guess it's just a nice pat on the back for last season.
Can't wait for Harbaugh to bring the universe back into proper alignment.
who are NFL prospect returning like Calhoun, Cook, Conklin, J. Allen, Thomas, and Davis. This is why
Yeah, their skill position guys (besides Cook) are relatively unproven - but they have arguably the best offensive and defensive line in the Big Ten. That's big.

They're going to lose 4 games this year. Cook is vastly overrated and no longer has the escape value of a strong RB. The D was exposed a couple times last year and the formula is no longer a secret.

will move during Harbaughgeddon and order will return.
Because they're less likely to win those games. In any event, a preseason poll is more about last year than this year, which is why MSU is ranked so high. Frankly, when we beat MSU, they'll fall apart. It's a program held together entirely on hatred on UofM.

They didn't have the best defense in the B1G last year though. The 3 good offenses they faced carved them up.
agreed but they lost close games to NW, louisville, and fsu. 20 returning starters after an 8-5 record means they should be much improved. They are not the 11th best team but considering their schedule they can easily win 9 or 10 games which would put them in the top 15 at the seasons end
I think I enjoy the AP poll most though because that's where the stupid comes out. Love me some collegepolltracker.com so I can check out the different ballots.
They also run a good feature on cbssports calling out all the dummies.
ND is always overrated every preseason pole. Just take one look at their schedule, they won't be there for long.
And here I thought being 5-7 last year would be motivation enough...
Yeah, no shit.
We got more votes than Indiana, Purdue, and Rutgers combined!!
/bright side
and tell Lloyd Carr that Michigan would only receive one vote in 2015 and you'll see a similar brick.
fuck those apologists.

Yeah, but... still, fuck them, right?!
fuck them (still).
