He would've come in if it was Cameron and not Besler. Brooks replaces Besler...Gonzo for Cam. No need to diss him, the majority of this board was killing Brooks and now everyone's on his jock. You never know when a guy will meet challenge and then the game for his team.

Pretty much. A loss means needing a result against Germany which is an ugly prospect. Tie Portugal and even with a Germany loss there's a 5-goal swing that needs to happen between that game and Portugal-Ghana.

Absolutely need to at least tie Portugal though.

Yeah, losing to Portugal would take extremely unlikely things to happen. Getting a tie or better against Portugal and we're in business.  Now that Ghana is out of the way, our entire group standings relies on that game.

Playing Germany last is an advantage too.  They'll be solidly through by the time we play them, so they won't be looking to run up the score on us.

that match....ha. From a netter before you even opened a beer to the inevitable equalizer that just left me deflated.....then BROOKS WAS (t)HERE minutes later. What a match.

I just watched an entire Soccer game and even had to steal the remote back, wife says "I've known you 23 years, and you have never even thought about watching soccer!"

If you believe in the future of American soccer, write your congressman and ask him to stop the closing of US military bases in Germany.
