Per Ives:

USMNT starters vs. France: Howard, Cherundolo, Goodson, Bocanegra, Chandler, Williams, Beckerman, Edu, Shea, Dempsey, Altidore

Pretty solid group.

EDIT:  and announced by Ian Darke, so you know something awesome will happen.

Soccer broadcasters guys are so much more straightforward than their American football counterparts.  I love hearing Hudson talk about bad plays - he's relentless.  His commentary made the last Barcelona match against Hospitale watchable (I'm a Messi fan (yeah, I know) and was bummed that he wasn't playing).

They also recently had a total nut for a coach (Raymond Domenech) who used astrology to guide his personnel decisions.  The French team pretty much tuned him out for the last 2-3 years of his tenure before it finally came to a head in South Africa last summer.  Now that they are managed by Laurent Blanc, they are starting to get it turned around.

Damn it, good edit on the earlier identical response.

I'm hoping the US can show something - they've really struggled since JK has taken over (not that I think it was a bad decision, just an adjustment period).

I'm also ready to see Adu again at some point.

They're not saying "Booo", they're saying "Bleu"!

Not a bad half.  Been wanting to complain about Beckerman, but he hasn't done anything to warrant it.

Chandler seems to be having issues connecting with anyone, and I haven't seen much of Shea.

I would say that complaining that "Beckerman hasn't done anything" would be pretty valid.  I don't understand Beckerman/Edu in the midfield for anything other than just seeing what they can offer.  Bradley's better than both of them, whether as a holding mid or as the CAM.  And the previous excuse for not playing him no longer applies, he's actually playing regularly for his Serie A team.

Ireland is in pretty good shape in their tie, up an away goal and up a man, they really should be able to put another goal or two in the net and get a stranglehold on that one heading back to Dublin.
