The medals aren't the right shade this year

Dammit Adidas!

They're alternate medals.
That medal which appeared to be a gold-silver striped medal was only going to be handed out for one event, or so they said. They'll probably threaten us with its reappearance in, say, archery or equestrian events. I personally would rather they just stuck to the traditional gold and silver as indicated in the official PANTONE palette.
She just qualified a half hour ago for pole vault trials in Eugene in two weeks!
That is awesome!!! Congrats!!!!

Harley committed to WVU

WV when UM is pursuing him. Harley and his parents just visited A2 so there should have been real interest in both sides. Our 2016 class is loaded with slots, but Harley has some elusiveness that can always help a team.
BTW, what's the scoop on WR Brad Hawkins? Did he show in A2 or is he bound for a different path for next year?
Perfect thread to ask that last question
Must have been the bagman

Thought there were no finals until later in the week.
Nope - finals for men's and women's 400 IM and men's 400 free tonight. Semifinals for women's 100 fly and men's 100 breast tonight too (those finals will be tomorrow night).
Wow - Ryan Lochte fell apart and did not qualify for Rio in the 400IM. He had a big lead into breaststroke, and coughed it up to Chase Kalisz, who won. Lochte finished third, Jay Litherland second!
Dana Vollmer wins the first semifinal in the 100 fly.
Kelsi Worrell wins the second 100 fly semifinal.
Michigan Man Connor Jaeger about to hit the pool in the 400 free final!! GO BLUE!!
Connor Jaegar of UM up next.
Jaeger won!

Great race!!!! Connor Jaeger clinches a berth to Rio!!!!! He wins the 400 free, with Conor Dwyer finishing second. Helluva challenge by Haas.
Ha - "Michigan Men don't quit." Connor Jaeger.
Maya Dirado and Elizabeth Beisel get to sign the flip-flop! Nice work in the 400 IM.
Gabby Douglass struggled.
This Simone Biles gymnast is on a different level. Totaling dominating.

I was sitting at the computer and managed to look up when I heard Michigan. Figured there'd be others featuring other schools, like with the NCAA men's gymnastics ads, but only saw a replay of this one. (A car sponsor.)
Swimming trials underway now (prelims) - will post if anything exciting happens.
Missy Franklin and the ageless Natalie Coughlin make it to semi's in 100 back.
Connor Jaeger squeaks into 200 free semi's, with Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer and two fellow Club Wolverine guys, Michael Klueh and Michael Wynalda.
Breeja Larson (who would kick your ass), Jessica Hardy, Micah Lawrence, Katie Meilli, et al. into the semi's for 100 breast.
By the way, Michael Phelps scratched out of the 200 free - don't know why.
19 heats of men's 100 back going on - going to be a bit longer...12 more heats to go.
Sheesh - three-way swim-off needed to determine 15 and 16 places for the 100 back. Ryan Murphy, Matt Grevers, Sean Lehane top three for tonight. And a swim-off needed to determine order of the two alternates.
Semifinals and finals tonight (NBC, 8:00pm EDT):
Women's 100 fly - final
Men's 200 free - semi
Women's 100 breast - semi
Men's 100 breast - final
Women's 400 free - final
Men's 100 back - semi
Women's 100 back - semi
Worrell and Vollmer on to Rio in the 100 fly (women's)
Dwyer, Lochte, Conger, Clary on to 200 free final (Jaeger didn't make it).
IU's Lily King first seed in tomorrow's 100 breast - joined by the likes of Jessica Hardy and Katie Meili
On to Rio in the 100 breast - Kevin Cordes and Cody Miller
Katie Ledecky was on WR pace but fell off. She still wins the 400 free and goes to Rio with Leah Smith!
Plummer, Murphy, Grevers top three on to men's 100 back finals
Ali DeLoof (5) and Clara Smiddy (6) qualify for the 100 back final! GO BLUE!!!! Missy Franklin and Natalie Coughlin qualified seventh and eighth...
Ledecky leads the way into the 200 free semi's, along with Missy Franklin, Allison Schmitt (who's from Canton, MI, btw), Leah Smith (second in the 400 free) and other great swimmers.
Michael Phelps leads the guys into the 200 fly semi's! Michigan's Kyle Whitaker did not make it :( However, Tyler Clary did! (So many Michigan swimmers - so many names popping up from the past years)
Packed schedule tonight:
Women's 200 free semi's
Men's 200 free final
Women's 100 back final
Men's 100 back final
Women's 100 breast final
Men's 200 fly semi's
Women's 200 IM semi's
Missed the women's 200 free semis.
Haas and Dwyer to represent the USA in the men's 200 free. Ryan Lochte will be on the relay (finished fourth) with Jack Conger, who finished a tenth behind Dwyer. No joy for Tyler Clary.
Notables into the women's 200 free final tomorrow night: Katie Ledecky (first), Missy Franklin (who has to turn around and swim the 100 back final), Leah Smith, Allison Schmitt.
Smoliga and Baker to Rio in the women's 100 back. Franklin finished seventh, and Coughlin eight - disappointing for them. Deloof and Smiddy fourth and sixth - not bad. Something is up with Franklin...not sure what. She swam for a year at Cal and then went pro.
The men's 100 back will be just sick - watch if you can (coming up).
