URGENT! UM-ND Game Watch in Beijing?
hey guys. need a big favor. due to some unforeseen consequences i am stuck in beijing a day longer than intended, which means i wont be home in time for the UM-ND game. have only my iphone and thats it. no laptop so cant watch it that way.
Anyone have any idea of places to watch the game in Beijing? I've tried the internet cafes but they wont let me (the dirty foreigner) in. If any former ex-pats or people from there know of any bars that might be showing the game, any help would be greatly appreciated. I know this is probably more suited for the sticky about UM friendly bar locations, but its urgent and need your help! 9 hours till kickoff...

Streaming on NBC.com.
Edit: D'oh, reading is fundamental. Sorry didn't see about the internet problem (and questionable whether the chinese internet censors allow nbc to stream anyway). Yeah, try the embassy, they might at least know of options.

Some pricey hotel? I have no idea, good luck with that, and go blue!
p.s. stay away from the tanks.
p.p.s. so what is it, like Tuesday over there?

Have internet access? Then you could see the NBC feed.
Because I don't think anything you can watch on an IPhone is going to carry it. Though you could read the liveblog here during the game.

ATDHE? See if links like those can go through China's Great Firewall.
Good luck finding the game.

Dude you are in an interesting place. Will you be at an airport? Maybe a bar there. I found a UM beijing fb page. www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=33820620147 Email duncan huang. Maybe they have ideas. Good luck sir.
No internet, how about an internet cafe? Just bring hand sanitizer and its worth it.September 11th, 2010 at 8:15 AM ^
Hey, I live in Shanghai and I know there are 1 or 2 bars here that are going to show the game on replay the day after, you might find some in Beijing that will do the same if you don't mind avoiding finding the score for a few hours. I'm not sure if you'll find any that are open at 3:30am to see it live though.
Maybe try calling a few bars mentioned on this forum (though it is 4 yrs old).

I know nothing about the sports bar scene in Beijing, but a quick search found this place. Maybe give them a call.

If worse comes to worse, just watch on NBC.com at an LAN center since you don't have a computer handy. I know you'll be able to find one open 24 hours, you'll just have to deal with wading through the Chinese gamers. The NBC live stream will work in China, I've checked today to make sure and I can watch ND/Purdue no problem, so it should work.
EDIT: I failed at reading too and didn't see you couldn't get in the internet cafes.
If you were in Shanghai I'd invite you to watch it at my place.

Check with the American Chamber of Commerce or AmCham in Beijing. Saw the 2006 Michigan OSU game with a bunch of alum. It was great fun!
