chance of bowl: 13.6%
Still tied! Lets take care of business next weekend.
why on a shooting foul was nebraska only given a 1 and 1 and after missing the refs talked about it and gave ball to msu?
Thank you Nebraska.
Sparty must be hurt.
So much for a two-team race for the title. Iowa now just a game back.
Yeah, no one standing out in the conference. Michigan had their chances to pull away but lost to Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
They said State was glued to the TV before the game, watching Mich lose. Maybe they should have been, you know, focusing on preparing for their own damn game. Thanks guys!
Karma is a BITCH
dawson is still out. he's worth at least a 10 pt difference, right?
...at Breslin, yet.
Thank you Nebraska!!!
didn't take care of business ourselves. We should be a game up.
I would contend we should be up 2 games sitting at 12-1. There's no reason we should've lost @IU and at home to Wisconsin today.
Sadly, this makes me angry about how much better Michigan's situation could be if they hadn't shit the bed today. Oh well, I guess, as far as the race against State is concerned, this day now never happened. Just win, baby...
Just think of it as one of those butterfly effect things.
Thank you Nebraska!
OK, let's rest up and play a great game next Sunday to seize control.
sparty. rcmb check it out
This week: Beat Ohio State (68-62); Beat Illinois (67-58)
Thing: This appeared on my television screen last night. On the Big Ten Network. For serious.
In case you can't read the top bar, it really does say "NCAA Tournament Resume." If the question is, “does a 15 or 16 win team with a single top-100 non-conference win and a 7-11 or 8-10 record in conference make the NCAA tournament?” the answer is “Trololololo.”
Still, the fact that the BTN can even run such a graphic shows how far Tim Miles has taken this team. And how much peyote is apparently available in BTN Headquarters.
Thing they are like: An NIT tournament team, which, hey, that’s not terrible if you’re Nebraska.
That Nebraska win earlier in the year looks better and better...
We have two of them. This conference is just weird.
Also, if Nebraska gets to at least 9-9 they should definitely get a bid though it could be close. If they get to 10-8 which seems very possible they should be a lock.
hell of a tough place to hang on when the comeback starts. Petteway was just unreal in the second half. Wow.
Other than Nebraska winning, obviously, was Izzo complaining that Payne WASN'T called for a charge because Nebraska got to go into transition on the rebound.
that Payne is still a little bit hurt.
that Payne is still a little bit hurt.
Sets up a big show down in AA next week. I'm expecting two different teams than the ones that played today. Big Ten is just tough.
Here are some of the stats for this game -
Michigan State eFG% - 39.00%
Nebraska eFG% - 44.34%
Michigan State OREB% - 25.71%
Nebraska OREB - 25.00%
Michigan State - FTR - 25.00%
Nebraska FTR - 39.62%
Compare also MSU's 11 turnovers to Nebraska's 5, which leads to an A/T ratio of 2.00 for the Cornhuskers and 0.909 for MSU.
Lucky break. Next Sunday is huge, obviously.
Perfect for those losers. F State.
Well this sure sets up an interesting game next week!
Look forward to next sunday and a possible two game lead. Purdues gonna give em fits at home.
Is the conference just that good top to bottom, or is it just just having a down year?
It's like the SEC in football . . . nobody ever really knows for sure.
We could all be gladiators beating each other up, or we could all just be crap. Who knows at this point?
We were all certainly aware of their fb prowess under Tom and their not unlike Michigan slide after his retirement. But since joining the BIG, national, not just regional t.v. viewers have witnessed some tremendous comebacks and pride demonstrated when defending their home field in fb, I can recall 4 games when I considered turning the station at half-time, and in each they came back from large deficits to win. That stuff plays well with recruits. Now they're taking down perennial powers in bb? Must admit was a little worried about their academics when they joined, but they agreed to and have made great strides in improvement in that regard. And they're making noise athletically in sports we really didn't predict. Might prove as beneficial for conference as it has for them.
This is good for them. I'm sure they had their doubts when they traded storied rivalries with Oklahoma and Texas for losses to Northwestern and Iowa.
They'll hold their own in the B1G West in football, and they have a whole new sport to get behind in basketball. And they're no longer the Big Ten noob with Maryland and Rutgers joining.
I'll be the Michigan fan stomping around Ann Arbor in my Nebraska toque this week.
Not to be confused with the Nebraska Cornhead, which is never worn outside of the home.
Iowa is only a game back too, and has firmly re-entered regular season title contention.
So very, very sad
sweet! Thanks mgoblog. I'm without tv.
