Its early but its building..I know it doesnt mean much but i want to see Michigan with that #1 next to them..its been too long.
the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection
Why even start a thread if its early? Wait until less than 5 minutes or something.
Because i want to drink my beer and talk about this game..and get the fuck off my lawn
Now we know who to blame if Duke ends up winning.
Greetings from Bolivia.
"It's special how the real true people hang together. And if you don't support the program you're not a true Michigan guy. It's that simple." - Gary Moeller
As soon as he clicked "save" Duke scored to end the 8+ min drought.
I don't want to go to baseball game with this guy.
The Team, The Team, The Team.
Can't believe you fell for the early lead deception.
Don - my favorite curmudgeon. Don't be so pessimistic all the time. Life's too short
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
In other words.. Put a fork in them. Plumlee just dropped off the list for POY and Duke can't seem to hold that #1 rank for more than a game. Go Blue, beat Purdue.
I'm just keeping the seat warm until he shows up tonight.
And it's not pessimism anyhow... I don't give a damn whether Duke wiins or loses, I've just seen the script in football and basketball a million times when the underdog gets out to a big lead early and then gets reeled in by the better team. Tonight is one of the exceptions, and I'm wrong bigtime.
For all you crying "jinx," this lead will be tough for Duke to overcome.
"For the last 28 years, I've spent my life in the greatest of places, the University of Michigan." -Lloyd Carr
That first half was pretty much porn for all the Duke haters out there.
C-A-N-E-S....CANES!
Miami is playing well and lighting it up from three, but Duke has been struggling big time on offense to help Miami build the big lead. Let's hope they can keep it up. Remember, Miami beat Duke last year at Cameron.
The Michigan Difference. Oh yea, it is real.
Miami cheerleaders make me feel funny, like climbing the rope in gym class.

Go Blue!
42-19 at the half..Miami is not a bum team so that is a big lead..If that is not Upset Alert status then come back later when you see fit
In kind of related news, why was Duke ranked #1 again anyway? All I read recently is that they aren't the same team without Kelly. Doesn't that justify not putting them at #1?
Miami's run was pretty outrageous. Duke could hit nothing and Miami was hitting everything. They got a ton of 3's and And-1's in a row there
Duke down by 25 points at the half!!! Dot forget we still have to beat Purdue and Illinois in Champaign so lets stay focused either way though go Canes!!
This is ridiculous. Obviously they have the talent to come back...if they find their rhythm. Wow this is crazy. All teams are vulnerable...
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Select Duke statistics at halftime - Amile Jefferson and Mason Plumlee are tearing it up with 5 and 4 points respectively. They are 8-36 in the FG department for a whopping 22.2%, 2-11 from 3-point land and have made 1 free throw in 4 tries.
Miami, on the other hand, is shooting 58.6% and Durand Scott has nearly outshot the entire Duke squad, including the bench.

Barry flippin' Larkin's kid plays for Miami. Color me intrigued...
I loved that story of the kid's little league coach telling Larkin's wife that whoever taught the kid to swing a bat didn't know what he was talking about. I wonder how the coach felt when he was told that Pete Rose taught the kid to swing a bat. Derp.
Duke is good and will always be Duke. But they aren't winning anything without Ryan Kelly.
How are they overrated when they lost 1 (and maybe 2) to good teams without their best player? They rolled a bunch of top 15 teams prior to that.
What top-15 teams did they roll? Kentucky, who they beat by 7 and just lost to Alabama (for their 6th loss)? Lousville by 5 who just lost by 9 to Villanova? OSU by 5? They did roll Minnesota.
Point is, their UK win doesn't look good anymore, and Louisville is looking like a paper tiger, and those were both close wins. They pulled out OSU after trailing the whole game, and yeah, Minnesota.
I'm not saying they're not good or anything, but to say they rolled a bunch of top-15 teams isn't stretching the truth.
Non conference of any team us included, they didn't beat any perfect teams, but lots of good wins...
I don't care who wins, as long as it's Michigan.....
I agree with you, but that group isn't as good as it looked before, since both Lousville and Kentucky, the latter especially, are worse than originally thought. That, and the fact that this game is Duke's second away game all year (NC State was the first).
I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like this...holy sh*t Duke!
Came out of the half and Miami picks up where they left off. They're just playing harder than Duke.
Denard has spent the offseason working really hard and smiling at people.
Leading by 30 points with 18 minutes left. This means: If Michigan beats Purdue and Illinois soundly this week, Michigan WILL BE #1.
Kansas just beat a #11 team on the road. We play 2 non-ranked teams. They will get the nod for #1, not us.
Yeah, but we already beat them, and by more.
I'm not saying we're a shoo-in for #1, but I don't think your reason will hold a lot of weight.
The transitive property does not work for college basketball. It's all about what have you done recently. We moved up after beating a ranked Minn. Kansas wil move up after beating a ranked K-State. Simple as that.
They only have the one game this weekend. With a big win on Sunday on the road, that might help mitigate their better win. Also, M was 56 points ahead of them in the most recent AP poll, and had four more first place votes.
The Coaches Poll will probably belong to Kansas, though. They have a twenty point and seven first place vote advantage as of Monday.
