"The University of Illinois is also in turmoil. The university sports an Interim Chancellor, an Interim Athletic Director, and an Interim Football Coach; the game will be played at Soldier Field, making this an Illini Interim Home Game."
Updated Bracketology - I hope this happens
I wouldn't be surprised to see up drop to a four seed, to be honest. Not sure we deserve a three seed after how we played the last 2 nights.
The last two games in the B1G tourney does not negate the great season we had. We still won a share of the B1G title and had some solid OOC wins. No need to overreact
We do not want to see Duke. They are too talented, we cant match them. I meantif we have a great shooting day, we might beat them, but given how sloppy Michigan played the last two games I don't see us passing Duke.
you have to play the good teams eventually
I want nothing to do with Belmont and Memphis
I would love that bracket. Memphis would be tough but I like our chances. And Syracuse, duke, and Indiana we match up well against all of them, or at least better than the rest of the team at those seeds.
I don't want to play duke. The refs always side with them.
You don't mean that you think that some of those "charges" they get are actually flops, do you? I'm shocked and scandalized at the suggestion. It is like you think that Duke should actually have to play by the same rules as everyone else.
Next thing I know, you'll say that they shouldn't automatically get a 1 seed every year, no matter how mediocre their season . . . .
I'm tired of playing Duke. I guess they're more beatable than the other #2 seeds, but I want to face someone else.
Agreed - it would be annoying to have to deal with them at this point
Memphis already this season. However, this isn't exactly a cupcake 2nd round matchup. They are long and athletic. That's the type of team that can and will give Michigan problems. Although I believe Michigan could beat them again if this matchup does happen, this is far from a dream match up.
I want to see Duke and Syracuse in the bracket...I'm not fond of playing any other top team unless that team is from the B1G.
It'd be weird if we played Memphis and Duke just like at the start of the season- but I think that part of the bracket looks pretty decent for us if it happens like that.
Yeah I hate Duke just like everyone else- but enough with the refs favoring them stuff. Fans see what they want to see and everyone hates Duke so 50-50 calls are all horrible calls in fans eyes similar to how any close call in a Michigan game that doesn't go our way was clearly bad officiating...
do we really need to analyze fictitious brackets when the real thing will be released in a little over an hour?
do not want Belmont
I live in ACC country and see Duke play a lot. What you don't always see on TV is Coach K constantly in the refs ear during timeouts. He jaws them to death throughout the game until the calls start going his way. He also clearly teaches his players to flop which is no secret. So while I understand that you're tired of hearing people complain about it, fact of the matter is they have a very valid point. Unfortunately I don't ever see this changing. That's one of the ways he gets a competitive edge and it works.
Jerry Palm at CBS has a possible matchup with SDSU in the second round. That would be a lot of fun and a great storyline.
Look at it again. He has them as a 7 playing Duke in round. Cincinnati is the 6.
They are not a 14 seed.
They are not a 14 seed. They are number 22 in kenpom. No thanks hopefully they move up to 13 or 12
This is why IMO Lunardi is overrated. The committee has for years tried to avoid rematches of the regular season. Michigan surely won't be in a bracket where they would have 2 rematches of the regular season before the regional final. I can't believe that ESPN doesn't have someone on staff to research that and tell Lunardi, hey this won't work.
Is there ever an Mgoblog communnity bracket? Just a curious noob sorry.
