Updated 2013 MBB Scout Rankings - Walton #48, Donnal #80
Scout released their updated 2013 top 100 - Walton jumps to #48 and Donnal debuts at #80. Oddly, Zak Irvin actually dropped to the #24 SF(previously #23 SG), and is not among the top 100.
I have to say Irvin's ranking(or lack of in this case) is quite odd to me, by all accounts Irvin has played quite well in the AAU circuit during the first 3 weekends - on both ends of the court. Donnal is a good player that is perfect for Coach B's system, but there is no way that he is a better player than Irvin at this point.

Tom Charlton just doesn't have the same ring to it
Still very early for these rankings which explains lots of the oddities.
I think Beilein has proved that we should have faith in his recruits. He gets guys that work so well for his system- and the incoming class is finally a loaded class. This class has the potential to be similar to that class- since so many Beilein recruits take off after commiting it seems. Not worried where Irvin gets rated- I am very excited to see him play for us no matter if he is a SF, SG, 5 star, 4 star, or whatever on any scouting service.
Wow, Irvin not being in the top 100 is a huge shock to me. Having seen him play several times, I can say with the utmost confidence that he is a top 40ish type. Scout might have just missed adding him to their list. He is the #1 junior in Indiana, and one of the top 5 or so players in the midwest. I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that he will be the top ranked player in UM's 2013 class and a top 50 overall player, to all sites, by the time his senior season ends.
Edit: What is even more puzzling is they have PG Demetrius Jackson ranked as the #38 overall player. Jackson is considered the #2 player in Indiana, behind Irvin, according to most Indiana High School recruiting experts.
This be crazy
I think he very easily could end up a 5 star. He is a legit 6'7" and extremely long. He should be able to put up much better stats this year now that Gary Harris is gone. Irvin is known as a shooter, but he is an above average athlete and has a very good handle. He will also be the best on the ball defender for UM the moment he steps on campus.
Agree with everyones thoughts here so far. And this is right up there with Taco not a top 300 player, probably worse.
It is obvious to even a person not getting paid to do this that Irivn should be rated higher than Donnal.
I preached for the longest time why services had Brundidge rated higher than Burke when it was clear Burke was a top 50 recruit, and Brundidge should not even be in the top 300.
When a person who does not get paid to do this full time gets it right more than a person who does get paid for it, how much credibility do you put in the analyst going forward?
Burke being rated behind Brundidge was bad, Irvin not top 100 is just about as bad.
He is the #24 ranked SF to Scout, not #24 overall.
I'm intrigued by the #79 recruit, Goodluck Okonoboh - dude plays on the same Tilton squad as Nerlens Noel, and holds a Michigan offer. Plus, what a name!
Some people from Indiana say that Irvin could possible be #1 in the state. Scout obviously dropped the ball on this one.
