UPDATE TSIO: Herron & Posey Out Indefinitely

Submitted by SanFrancisco_W… on

Well, it appears that Posey and Herron were taking other benefits than just tattoos.  Looks like they may have been receiving some money for summer jobs in Cleveland.  Read for yourself and let me know what you think:

Herron and Posey Out Indefinitely

EDIT: Lawyer for OSU has stated that the eligibility of one of the Tat 5 is now being called into question by the NCAA.  This being reported by 97.1 The Fan in Columbus.  They have not said if it's Adams, Posey, Herron, or Solomon Thomas.

Additional allegations:

Violation is excessive compensation re: hours work/dollars paid.  Violation will be considered with the other violations, not a separate issue.

Players:

*Posey, Hall and Herron out for this weekend.

*Fellows (med hardship) and Sabino (already reinstated)

Questions:

Q: Why do you think that LOIC will not be applied:

A:  Failures are individuals (athletes, coach, and a booster).   These are infractions that individuals committed.

Q: If you keep having a bunch of cases isn't that indication that there is some kind of a problem (LOIC)

A:  Derp derp  -- Individual descisions by individual people -- Derp derp

Q: What is the status of the Booster DiGeronimo?

A: He has been disassociated from OSU.

Q: Re: Gene being accountable.

A: I am accountable, that's why I'm here.

My take:

Derpa derp derp

I was literally laughing at my computer when he continued to talk about indivuduals...isn't everything an individual's decision.  It's a lack of compliance education.  As The Common Man and Torg are saying, if the fans in Columbus know who these boosters are, why doesn't the Compliance Office???

I don't see the difference between getting paid straight up and getting paid for not showing up for a job you didn't do.  Lets call it for what it is - OSU pays its players.

"Anybody watch that Gene Smith presser?  I did and I've gone from little confidence to almost no confidence in his ability to right the ship.  At this point I would consider it an act of God, Tom Cruise, Allah or whoever you do or don't pray to if we avoid FTM or LOIC from NCAA.  At some point an isolated incident becomes a pattern of behavior and we have crossed that bridge Bucks fans."
