UPDATE: NW passes on all-purple court
You might recall a few weeks back when we addressed the four proposals that fans could vote for on Facebook and touched upon the one rods-and-cones-scarring possibility that the court would end up looking like this. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed and the least awful option was selected.
Below is sample illustrating how the stained floor will actually look upon completion:

most big ten teams have more alums living in chicago then Northwestern has students plus alumni so "Chicago's Big Ten team" only makes sense geographically

Northwestern went with the more sensible choice here, but I will say, the purple one would have given them a great psychological advantage. It was, after all, pretty distracting.

sandblasted and faded the new thing? Because I would hope a private university could afford enough coats of paint to make the purple...purple.
At least this will probably prevent the football stadium from going all purple.
