I will say that The Wolverine did a pretty good job with the coaching search stuff, but otherwise, I have not been impressed lately. It seems like the guys at 247 are more tuned in with what's going on regarding recruiting. I'm generally not impressed with Balas, Sullivan, etc. at The Wolverine.

Many of us agree with you regarding Sullivan. He hasn't been that good over there at all. If he gets something right, it will be the first time. Rivals did not get this one correct and other than the coaching search have not offered much.

I can forgive being wrong about the whims of teenagers. What kills me is the way Sullivan talks down to his audience. In his writing as well as his interviews he comes acroos as thinking he is better than his audience and that we should be looking up to him for his super insider access. The only thing worse than that is when he comments on a game. He falls back on officiating everytime, which gives me the suspicion he doesn't actually know that much about the game.

I do not think Sullivan has any history of playing/coaching basketball or football, so I take his evaluations of sports with a huge grain of salt. IIRC, somebody once said he was a cross country guy. I'm not sure if that's true, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

A lot of people probably aren't impressed because he played in Iowa's offense, but I think he would start the season if he came here. I would welcome the move.

This would allow Gentry, Malzone, and O'Korn to redshirt.
Then next year Morris could redshirt with either Speight, Malzone, Gentry, or O'Korn to start. Experience galore

It'll be an interesting competition to say the least. I do wonder, though, if Harbaugh will tell him he's the likely starter if he transfers. Because otherwise it wouldn't make much sense since he is more than adequate enough to start at other places without much in the way of competition

I know, but if I'm a 5th-year player I'd probably want at least some form of assurance that I would be a likely candidate to start before giving up my one remaining year.  I'm not as high on Rudock as a top-flight QB replacement, but he's still good enough to (I assume) get some playing time elsewhere.

Then you wouldn't be a 5th-year transfer under Harbaugh. I'm sure JH is very up front that they get no preferential treatment. They're in exactly the same position as Gentry come fall camp. I think JH would probably tell the guy to his face that UM isn't for him, if he was looking for "some form assurance."

Like where?  I am not up to speed on the QB situation around the country, but I can't think of any major programs off the top of my head where the situation is as dire as at Michigan.  Wisconsin -- mmmaybe?  But certainly no guarantee for Rudock starting there.

As an added bonus, we're not playing Iowa this year.  If he still has some love for his old program, then it would probably be nice to not have to face them.

Off the top of my head, I can think of FSU, Oregon, LSU, Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame (maybe), UCLA, Wiscy (though I suspect he wouldn't want to go to a rival), etc. needing to replace QBs and/or have questions about the presumed starter.  Sure, few are as dire as UM's, but it's not like Michigan is far and away unsettled at the position.

I will take a seasoned B1G QB any day of the week. Managae the game, completes 61% of his passes, TD to INT ratio is very good (16/5), threw for over 2400 yards. He's an upgrade from what we have today.

There isn't a whole lot there at the QB position.  Speight might be the #1 today, Malzone #2, Morris #3.  I didn't think this would ever happen, but Harbaugh must realize that he doen't have much at QB besides Speight and he wants to redshirt Malzone.

I think there is good talent with those three guys. They just may not be ready yet to take the reigns. I think Harbaugh wants to win and wants to win now. A guy like Rudock could stablize the position for a season until the others are ready. I don't think JH will want to take a season to develop a QB.
