UPDATE: Drake Harris did not tear hamstring

Submitted by OaklandInPlay on

I sincerely apologize for the scare guys.

Drake Harris did not tear his hamstring. A poster on rivals who is usually reliable, assumed it was torn but the mods are saying he just tweaked it and could be out for the rest of spring practice.

Feel terrible for the kid, he hasn't played a snap of competitive football since Fall of 2012, if this is serious he has a lot of ground to make up to come back at all.

Even with Harbaugh all we've had with regards to players has been negative. Starting Lineman violates parole, leading starter RB MIP, starting C retires, and now a star WR in verge of playing time has terrible injury

This really blows.  Add me to the "not a doctor but..." club.  In my experiences working with HS athletes and endurance athletes as a fitness coach, chronic hamstring strains are one of the hardest injuries to recover from, and never seem to go away completely..

Wish him the best, but this doesn't sound good.

I WILL SHOOT THE MESSENGER IF I DAMN WELL WANT TO.

STUPID, STUPID HAMSTRING.

And what the hell with the name "hamstring"?  How dumb is that name?  It's like a "funny bone".  Give it a real name for God's sake.  A REAL MEDICAL NAME.

Not seeing much if anything around the net confirming this. Hoping for the best.

EDIT: Reports now stating a tweak which is better although I'm not still fully confident in his legs.

I feel so badly for this young man.  He is from my area, and I went to college with his father.  Hopefully things progress, and he is able to recover from this.

So is the update that he did indeed tear it? The way you present the information in this post is pretty unclear.

Hope it's just the tweak but damn man. What is wrong with his hamstring anatomy that makes them such a nuisance.

Guys, I apologize for not confirming this before I posted. I should have waited for the Mods feedback first. I will not make this mistake again. I wish the best of luck to Drake Harris, and hopefully he will be back by fall camp.
