Update: Dennis Norfleet at Tuskegee
This is nice. Dennis Norfleet and his team are both having good seasons. Tuskegee is 9-2, with a 26-16 win over Catawba College last weekend in the opening round of the Division II playoffs. Tuskegee plays North Alabama on Saturday in the second round.
Here are Norfleet's stats for the season. He's been playing running back, and he's the team's leading rusher, punt returner and kick returner. It also looks like he had an 82-yard kickoff return that didn't result in a touchdown. So he still hasn't officially taken a kick to the house. His stats:
RUSHING: 83 carries for 646 yards and two TDs
RECEIVING: 8 catches for 140 yards, no TDs
PUNT RETURNS: 9 for 93 yards, no TDs, long of 35
KICKOFF RETURNS: 14 for 307 yards, no TDs. long of 82

And you can tell this how? By the stripes of his shirt?

You base this upon what, exactly?

He's Ok as long as he doesn't do the third hip thrust, ala Hingle McCringleberry.

Still can't get that return TD. Why football Gods, why?

Shifty with no elusive speed.

So glad that he seems to be doing relatively well. I sincerely hope that he's happy there and having a great time. Unfortunate he left, but support him nonetheless and will always love those dance moves.

Those pre-kick-off dance moves were a highlight of many a dreadful game.

What happened with him anyway?

He had some academic issues, and I don't think his old high school coach was a very good influence on him. They were still very much in touch and the coach was saying a lot of negative things about the university in the media. I don't remember the details, it's been a while, but a google search should satisfy any curiosity you have.

Academic related problem.

Big rivalry there with Tuskegee and Catawba. Sad I missed that one. I set the DVR but for some reason it didn't record.

Watch Norfleet tear it up in the NFL.

But recent Michigan running backs who didn't get much use here have NEVER and I mean NEVER gone to another University for a year and then torn it up on Sund -
I've just been handed a note -

Yeah, they never really pan out at all.
What surprises me is that Rawls never really showed this type of ability at UM either, unless the opponent was Purdue. He clearly got some good coaching at Central, and it sucks to watch this team struggle to run the ball for years and realize that they probably had 2-3 viable rushers on the team that just were never used properly.

Glad he is doing well.

Glad to see he landed on his feet. I have to think that he'll get a look at by the NFL, and hopefully he'll has success.
