*Update to Brionte Update
The cap to a great game!!!!! Go Blue!!
But this certainly isn't a bad thing.
Just beat me to it.
Is Dunn a done deal? Let's hope so. Combo of him and Fitz in the backfield would be a nightmare for D-coordinators.
Its a done deal. Might just wait until its close to signing to make the annoucement!
what makes you say that?
its wishful thinking but i don't think taking a picutre with his cousin makes it a done deal
My thinking is similar to MM. I didn't have anything to base my predition he'd come to Michigan other than the reports I read...and a gut feeling.
I simply have a gut feeling...he's blue. Hopefully he's a silent commit and simply waiting for the moment. The natives in that cesspool called ohio aren't nothing nice. Timing will be important for this young man and his family when he comes out and declares Michigan.
Since we just took another RB, I am doubtful that he is a silent commit. That said, it does seem like we are at least neck and neck with Ohio.
He plans on enrolling early. He might just show up on campus the first week of January with no announcement. Not much harrassment if he is in A2 when ohio's finest find out.
He had to be encouraged seeing Fitz get alot of carries today. Come be a Michigan Wolverine Brionte!
I think this kids waits until OSU hires a coach and after the NCAA verdict.
Someone in a thread earlier in the week noted that Dunn to Michigan was a "done deal" if OSU hires Meyer as he wants to run in a more pro-style offense.
I have no idea how in-the-know that poster was, so take it with a grain of salt.
Still, you'd have to think there would be a moment to consider the landscape if the Urban rumor is/could be true. Urban's proven; that probably means something to any high school kid.
... but he's never coached a feature RB. At Utah he had Alex Smith, and at Florida the run game was all Tebow and gimmicky stuff with Percy Harvin. His final year at Florida, without a running QB but several explosive upperclass RBs, showed how he has no idea how to utilize a good RB.
From the perspective on a Michigander in Gainesville for many years, even my diehard Gator fiends, I mean friends, had to admit the same. The thought was they were SEARCHING for a feature back, then when they had one...well,...we all saw the results. Future forward here, them Gator teams were also exposed as not being very physical when the likes of 'Bama, & LSWho came a calling, and a maulin'. I for one am not afraid of Meyer taking over at Ohio, we're Michigan fergodsakes! We can handle it.
A few other twitter updates.
Taco Charlton "#Yessir!!! RT @CollegeGameDay: The #Wolverines roll past the #Huskers 45-17...Is #Michigan football officially back?"
Lawton Treadwell was tweeting about the game the whole time (he wasn't able to make it) and he said there is no way he is missing the next game.
Laquon* Treadwell. Lawton is an elementary school in Ann Arbor.
Damn autocorrect. You have failed me once again.
Also my hometown, about 15 minutes from kzoo
cottage out on Gravel lake this summer. That was fun.....
I lived in the Zoo for 15 years. Old Hat ftw.
Hey I live in Kalamazoo. OMG OMG OMG We should have a scotch sometime at Winston's downtown.
THE BREAKFAST PLACE
Regardless of who we get, I'll be pleased. Brown or Dunn, Diggs, Wright, etc are going to need to make a decision. this team is hot and will need to get on board if they want a chance to play for this school.
That the limit this post can get is five. Today's win and this post has thoroughly made my day.
I wish I could +1 this from my cell phone.
With Fitz doing his thing, it would be nice to land, then redshirt this dude.
I haven't seen him or his highlight tapes, but clearly he's a high 4/5 star talent. To be able to have him redshirt and then work his way into the lineup as a RS freshman would be nice.
Dunn, Johnson, Rawls and Hayes have some legit talent and (from what I understand) very different skill sets. Dunn seems like your all-around back, Johnson your workhorse with speed (ala Fitz), Rawls your bowling ball with quick feet, and Hayes your scatback who can push the edge and break the long one.
Dunn and Morris, with Kalis and co. ...whew! #MICHIGANfootball.
MOAR RECRUITS PLZZZZZZZZ
Hoke certainly has things going in the right direction. I can't wait for next weekend.
I wonder if Dunn does commit to us that he would wait until signing day, as to not spark the pitchforks and torches Buckeye fans.
I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.
Shane Morris is a tremendous ambassador. I'm proud to be a Michigan and DLS alum like he will be soon.
EDIT: Nothing to see here.
The title deceives you...
Imagine that win with these guys........join the side of good!
Whot the F,,,,,,,,k is Lawton Treadwelll ?
Does anyone know if Dunn plans on making any time of announcement or is he basically going to wait until he has to register for classes?
I'm not saying for Michigan (I hope it's for Michigan)...just in general, has he planned anything?
Dunn's father said they will be at the game next week also.
Cheering for which team? If he's an OSU commit on the M sideline, that would be a good sign.
Earlier reports were he wouldn't attend the game because he didn't want to be dispresctful. I would assume since he is now attending he will be on the Michigan sideline.
of course. I don't think BD and his father could return back to ohio if that were to occur. Altho...it would make for good drama for the mgousers.
Just read on facebook that he committed. Link
EDIT: The facebook group is not open... you will need to request an invite to get access.
How reliable are these guys?
Thurgood, Dennis, James, Greg are all highly reliable. Not saying this is or isnt true but they are more in the know than you or I.
Thurgood said he committed. Dennis replied that it's not official. Wait and see time.
That...would be awesome ^9813 if true.
Per Thurgood, Dunn told "players he's coming." Not sure if that means current players on the roster or recruits.
Did I get the right address?
Brionte Dunn is a great get - especially the direction the staff is taking the offense. I would have loved to have seen Wes Brown come here (an absolute game breaker) but Brionte is an equivalent talent who is a great between the tackles runner.
But personally the Fitz Toussaint era is a great one too. The kid is a great runner....
Couldn't agree more about Fitz. He is fun to watch!
I live in Omaha. I can't express how awesome this game was!!!!
I live in Omaha too, the smack talk on Monday at work I'm going to dish out is going to be epic! (all in good fun of course, I'll take my medicine if/when we lose to them)
Isn't that next week?
Wow, that's huge. The fact that he's visiting us the week we're playing the team he's currently committed to is a huge slap in the face to Ohio.
That's as close to de-committing as you can get without actually de-committing.
(BTW I thought this week was his official visit, guess not. Either way this looks really good for us.)
Hide yo' ACL.
TomVH is reporting that Dunn and Kalis will take their officials together next week!
lolololol wut now
Well, that's about as good as done then, right?
..and avoid the ensuing shit storm in Columbus as a result of his flipping. Reminds me of Pete Carroll telling...argh that DE from Michigan (Nick Perry?) to keep his commit quiet until he leaves for school in January in order to avoid any potential backlash in Ann Arbo.
This is awesome. It's just starting to feel real special again.
Sometimes when you're on, you're really fuckin' on.
Someone needs to remake that video with clips of the last 3 yrs interposed with successful clips from this year. I would pay money for that.
Where the coaches are all riding in the jeep...its exactly how i feel after this awesome fucking day!
I think if we add Dunn our class is number 1 no matter what, plus with Shaq visiting next week that game goes from huge to out of this world!!!
I hope if Wes Brown isn't able to come that does not end our chances with Diggs. There could be a lot of commitments soon. Michigan appears to be on the rise and there are limited slots left in superclass.
UM isn't recruiting Brown hard. Vandy is his strong leader.
