Why are you questioing Kentucky? The basketball fans down there are more fanatic than most college football fans.  Yes the top 4 on the list are football programs but Kentucky Basketball is a major revenue stream for that univeristy.

I don't think this has much, if anything, to do with our apparel manufacturer.

Texas has been #1 for eight consecutive years, which goes back to when we were still with Nike.  They're the flagship school in a gigantic state, so it makes sense.

Alabama has won three national titles in four years, so it's hardly surprising people want to buy their stuff now.

As for ND, they just went to the national title game, and they're another Adidas school anyway.

I have that bottom bball tshirt and its way better than anything Adidas makes. The fabric alone is top notch and as I've said before, if you're above 5-10 and not shaped like a barrel, Adidas shit fits horribly.

So you've got one replica fan jersey Nike produced and couldn't give away at MDen for a few years, and three template designs that were postseason tournament/bowl game templates that wouldn't have changed anything but the logo if they were Michigan or Podunk A&M. Convincing argument.

I don't really care about fan gear as it is, but I do care when Adidas can't deliver enough away basketball jerseys that won't tear. Or puts us out there in clown costumes with bumblebee stripes for rivalry games. Or can't even get the correct color for maize, even if Nike had a certain shade trademarked. Maize isn't highlighter yellow.

Adidas' track record at Michigan has been spotty at best. Don't care how incredible the contract is, but Michigan needs to go in a different direction when this deal is up.

If Michigan starts competing for national titles that number will go up. Michigan had a good basketball tournament but morning drives fanbase spending enthusiasm like great football seasons.

Where's Ohio?

For the eighth straight year, the University of Texas collected the most royalties of any college or university represented by the Collegiate Licensing Company, whose clients include all the major schools except Ohio State, Michigan State, University of Southern California and Oregon.

oh... some pretty popular schools on that list, except for sparty.  Wonder where those schools would have fallen if included.

I own a longhorns hat... BUT I wear it once in a while because Texas owns Ohio St recently. Love how buckeye fans react when I wear it on campus. And I did like Colt McCoy when he played. Pissed off a lot of buckeye fans too lol

Regarding Michigan being ranked 4th instead of higher, I blame Brian and all the free T-shirts he gives away with HTTV donations...which reminds me, I need to go home and wash my newest T-shirt.

People bagging on Adidas should keep in mind that 1) royalties really don't amount to that much money for the schools (a school will typically get like a 4% cut of merchandise sales) and 2) Adidas pays us a ton of money straight-up for the contract ($7.5M per year), which is worth a lot more.  As long as Adidas is willing to give us that money and Nike isn't, I'm all about the three stripes.

Say it again. Screw Nike!!! Most around here don't remember how we were the 1st school to ever receive these contracts, we are also the school who has been paid the most since its inception. With that being said everyone here needs to realize that NIKE dumped us not the other way around. Nike told UM and I quote " we just don't see the necessary hype that goes along w the school and the dollar sales there anymore" That's when they told us we would not be retained unless we wanted monies similar to UCLA type schools. That is also when they moved the Nike camp off of the University or Michigan and moved it to Ohio.

I for one will buy Adidas all day as they made a commitment to our school and have paid us more money then any school w any kind of endorsement deal. People need to stop bitching and start buying. Adidas saved our ass and continue to give us a shit load of money. So I say FUCK NIKE and when they come running back to us in a yr or two once we are a national power in FOOTBALL and BASKETBALL again, i hope we go tell Nike to KICK ROCKS!

Thanks

We are all aware that Counterfeit sports merchandising is a criminal industry that nets billions a year worldwide. This year, there will be even more, with the world's focus on the London Olympics. British specialists have already made countless arrests for attempting to move phony souvenirs. And they are warning vacationers coming to see the games to be careful about what they purchase.
