I just watched this press conference, and in it it was mentioned that there are several post-game activities being sponsored by the university, particularly for students.

Can any current students fill the rest of us in on what these events are and if non-students are able to attend?

I graduated in 2009, so I am still at the point where I plan on continuing my night after the game. I know the bars will be packed, so any alternatives would be awesome.

Also, I know there are some of you who have been wondering about gameday parking in the lots. Everyone knows that they don't open until noon, but it also sounds like they are not going to allow lining up ahead of time. According to the Michigan police chief, at least.

Anyways, I thought this might be useful to some of you.

SIAP or Discussed.

Call me stupid but I dont understand how they think > 115,000 people cramming into A2 at noon without allowing "lineing" up is a good strategy, I would rather let them take my cooler for 2 hours and just let me into Pioneer or the GC @ 10AM.

I agree with you.

I think the University thinks that by keeping the lots closed until 12 they will reduce alcohol consumption and all the problems that come with it.

However, people will still be drinking before noon. And the cluster caused by keeping the lots closed is going to be catastrophic.

I will be getting down to campus well before 12 come hell or high water.

I've been looking for a place to post this but didnt want to hijack another thread...my friend called and talked to the pioneer lot people...

apparently the pioneer guy said his guys will be there at the usual time (around 7:30) and that they wont be doing anything differently. take it for what it is worth. sounds like they wont be officially open until noon but they wont kick you out if you're there.

University lots with passes will be unequivocally opening at noon, and no earlier.  They were saying last weekend that they were going to stop you from even setting up tailgating materials in those lots ahead of your car being able to enter, and would confiscate anything set up before noon.  The lining up prohibition is also pretty serious, and will be enforced by the police.

I really don't understand why they're being so serious and anal about this.  The prom comment is spot on.  And if it rains, as it's supposed to, and the Golf Course is shut down...  Gonna be a total mess out there.

Wow this is gonna be so fucked come noon...  allowing no lining up? lol what do they think is gonna happen?  It will take most people til 3 pm before they get in and start tailgating if that is the case

I heard something about signs in the residential neighborhoods preventing gameday parking there.

Does anyone know more about this?

Who would I contact to get details about where we can and can't park? The city of Ann Arbor perhaps?

One could always just park somewhere on campus and get a not-so-huge ticket.  Yeah, it's going to be nutty, but we sell out every game.  114K isn't a lot different than 110K.
