Uniformz (Design ideas not official)

Submitted by Finance-PhD on

First of all, this is in no way official. A writier at TFM dug around and found a graphic designers concepts at how schools could update uniforms.

Here is a link.

I am not a big fan generally but I know people do like uniformz.I am not too old but I fall on the old foggie side of many changes in football so I will leave it to others to explain how wonderful showing the state of Michigan on the uniform will rock.

Ugh.

No offense to you, OP, but these are so fucking dumb. I can't tell you how many times I see on Twitter "New Michigan Football Uniform Concepts!"

No they're not. Someone got on Microsoft Paint and threw something together and slapped 17 Nike logos on there and said it was a concept.

I agree that I don't think there is anything official there. I was trying to make sure no one thought I think this is where things are going. I just have a feed that kicks anything Michigan to me at work and I saw it and thought I would share.

I hate all changes (darn you forward pass) and that includes uniforms but I know that some people really want to see things push forward.

No offense was taken at all.

yourself. Looks tacky.

Edit: These are terrible. Horrible. Although - sadly - I think the trend is going in the direction of the PSU abomination depicted there.

These are fucking retarded. 1000x worse than that pro-combat shit from nike.

We have the most iconic uniforms in American sports. Why the fuck do we need to mess with them?

I know I'm getting negged for this but that far left and middle one are pretty cool. Not on a permanent basis, of course, but for the inevitable "alternate uniform" games, I really like those two. MUCH better than those terrible looking things we wore against South Carolina.

OP, sorry for any of the posters that shit on this thread and the concept..  I hadn't seen these before and I think they are cool in a "never going to happen but I'm going to show my friends anyway" kinda deal.  We have the best and most iconic home uniforms in the game, but I'm not going to condemn someone for seeking an original and creative outlet and not knowing better than to skip over our ~untouchable even in theory don't you dare!~ uniforms.

I don't know if it's been around for years, but it seems pretty innovative to me (and at least makes sense). Maybe for the Spring Game or practice?

Looks like a 4 yr old with his pants twisted after he went pottys.
Classic-ly bad.

Can we keep broadway and back up dancers out of football?

Izzo is petitioning Nike to put player injuries on the jersey somewhere prominent.  So if Appling misses a shot he can run back on defense while the TV crew uses the telestrator to circle "WRIST" on his uniform and explain how he's battling a wrist injury.

and Nike, UA and Adidas compete for exposure, I'm afraid in 15-20 years all football uni's will resemble these atrocities. Oregon's recent "tradition" of wearing a different uniform/helmet for every game will probably become the norm.

The Alabama examples are really lame.... fwiw.

In full realization that these are someone's concepts and the chances of them seeing production are faint at best, I have to say that I suddenly rather like the brown and mustard yellow of the back-in-the-day San Diego Padres uniforms in comparison. The bright stripes of the Houston Astros unforms of the early to mid-80s suddenly don't seem quite as "ugh" as they used to now.

In other words, yikes....those are not flattering.

I don't really care about uniforms at all--I just clicked on the thread to see if everybody would get worked up over something this stupid again--but I think these are cool. Downvote away.

Minor league sports are all about gimmicks to get people into the seats. Those are more about being funny and playful than making an actual uniform. Star Wars night is a common one. Ghostbusters is new to me, so at least it's got that going for it.
