Under/over on BBQ weekend commits

Submitted by maizenblue1971 on

With the commit of Brian Cole already, what does everyone think about this weekend and the BBQ.  What number of commits will the team collect?   I'll be optimistic and say 3.  Go Blue!

I don't have the historic data for the other BBQs, but something tells me that 2.5 is probably a pretty good line for this particular event. My recollections of others, which could always be skewed, make me think that we usually end up with 2-3 either at the BBQ or following it. This year, I am going to optimistically go with the over if we include residual commitments.

Two at most - Thompson and Lewis. Spots are getting very scarce and they'll hold spots for Harris and Weber, so it's time for a few to grab spots. Two on Sun and two more by the end of August.

No basis, just 100% guess.

I'm guessing one more.

I think Thompson is MSU-bound, just because the story on him has been that he wants to go to MSU and his dad wants him to wait, and now that his dad is letting him commit earlier than expected he's going to commit.

I'll guess either Lewis or Roseboro commits to UM tomorrow.  I'd be thrilled with either of them.

Coach Hoke is going back to commits in pairs.

We have 1 down another coming.

Then I predict another pair - so 4 total.

This is all based on being on my 5th beer.

Go luck to the staff and Mr Cole is a catch - BAM.

Depends if we are counting Cole and whether a halo after glow effect of 24-48 hours after the event counts.

I could easily see the BBQ crediting Cole with upping his decision timeline, perhaps one kid committing later this afternoon right at the BBQ while still in Ann Arbor, then you've got car rides/plane rides home during which may be recruits talk about it with their parents or coaches or whatever, and then by Monday morning are pretty ready to make the announcement.

So if we go with a 24 or 48 hour halo before and after the event, I'll say 3 kids pull the trigger.  If it's simply by the end of this afternoon and include Cole, I'll say 2.  If we don't count Cole at all and just say the narrow confines of the event itself I'll say just 1.
