I love Moe's, but I'll spend my money on other stuff.
I kinda like the polo too.
I like the "Circle-M" logo they're throwing around. The shoulder stripes and "better under the lights" shit can kiss off though.
Actually that track jacket is pretty sick. Not sure Nike had anything like that.
A retail establihment would get a lot more respect from me if they straight up said something like "We got a new shipment in, in my opinion it looks like shit, hopefully someone else likes it."
On a side note, having a #1 jersey in the ONE GAME ONLY JERSEY STYLE is beyond stupid. I get wearing the #1 jersey at games where we have no #1 currently playing as an homage to people who wore the #1 before, but if the jersey is solely for a game where we have no #1, then it should not have a #1.
I'm picking up what you're laying down--I just bought my new #1 jersey for this season not long ago (traditional home jersey). And to me, it's an homage to my first U-M football hero: AC. I was a 9 or 10 year old kid when he was doing his thing, and no matter who may wear that number in the future, mine will always represent Anthony Carter.
Gotta disagree. It's an iconic Michigan number. I'm glad they did it.
That is all!
You should probably pay for advertising instead of using MGoBoard space. Brian is a blogger and I'm sure he could use the money
Look above the headline to this post.
Yes I know. Their advertising should stay there. If they want more advertising they should pay for it
I'm pretty sure part of the advertising deal is occasionally posting here and linking to Moe's. Unless you have already forgotten about the trivia/closest to the number contests from last season. Relax.
I think you should let Brian run his own blog.
Thing is, it also constitutes "news". I agree, they shouldn't be spamming us every ten seconds, but they have new promotional stuff in. If someone non-Moes-related had posted and been like "oh, they have all the UTL stuff at Moe's", that would've been totally cool. So basically you're pissed at them because they were up front about who they were (username) and did it themselves instead of waiting for the grapevine. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
I'd also like to be updated when the student shirts are in, if they're not already.
Haxel: Kindly STFU. Doubling down on asshattery doesn't make it better. It's a local A2 business, a longstanding supporter of this blog- it's first actual sponser that wasn't a google ad, etc. They've also run promotions in the board and given away free stuff. Stop being petulant. The board has mods. And a proprietor. Clearly they're okay with it.
Funny, no one complaines about Moe's posting during football season when they were running contests on the board...
I really like the polo and track jacket.
Why was my birthday last month!? Thanks a lot mom.
Your birthday was last month because your mom gets really horny in August.
looks pretty nice. The jersey with the longer sleeves I am not so hot on. We'll have to see what they look like for real.
Wow, some pretty expensive shit IMO! They want $70 for those sweatshirts....a little to much I think.
That's kinda what I was thinking... I know this is one time apparel but damn man... This stuff is expensive. Some of us poor folk can't afford this stuff... That track jacket is pretty cool, but $85 cool I don't think so...
Because we're going to play a night game like every year. It's the first, sure, but it's not like it a rare occurance around college football (like having 100,000 see a hockey game is), and it won't be for Michigan either. Slapping a nickname on it is just stupid.
The hoodies at moe's that cost 70 dollars are WAY better quality than the 30 dollar ones. They are much thicker and heavier. They also last a lot longer. I think you get what you pay for.
I don't understand why Moe's/UGP stock so many of these shirts that already look worn out. I want to wear out the design on a shirt myself, not buy one that looks beaten to heck already. Otherwise, maybe I'd buy some of those old Michigan wordmark or old-school Wolverine logo shirts.
Pffffft wait for that vintage look? This is 2011, man. We're living at the speed of life! We don't have time for that!
Because having worn it and washed it look for $70 is obviously cool. But now it's the majority. Should items that already look old and beat up be on clearance? It like when people used to pay for jeans with rips already in them (or look faded). I used to do all that as a kid for free.
I beg to differ - the jerseys are ugly and Moe's should take a stand and not carry them.
Not what I would have expected from a man whose name starts with "profit."
Fuck that noise.
Actually, I kinda liked the polos... until I saw the price.
I did notice a problem with the "Dueling Helments" shirts:
They have the retro ND helmets, but don't have the numbers for the retro Michigan helmets. At least as far as I can tell from the picture on the site. But I think this is an Adidas problem, not Moe's.
the use of the classic style Adidas logo for the throwback stuff. Seems appropriate.
I think Adidas should go back to that full-time. The triangle logo doesn't really do it for me.
Same Adidas logo that Bennie Oosterbaan wore.
Replica jersey's have 20 stripes and the game jerseys have 5?
I totally agree. I might've (but probably not) bought one if they looked the same as the game jerseys. The replicas are hideous bumble-bee-shouldered monstrosities.
It's probably because the replica jerseys have sleeves and the game jerseys don't
The proportions between the stripes and the numbers and the M on the front are completely different in the game jerseys. A lot more blue, a lot less stripe.
Plus, it's a "jersey" only in name. Good luck getting pads under that thing. It's basically a shirt inspired by the game jersey.
Those are the two main reasons why it sucks, IMO.
But I'm buying one of the hoodies...
What I want to know is why there are no helmet numbers on the "dueling helmets" t-shirt.
I like the polo. Not the price, but the shirt is something I might wear.
EDIT: Doh, wile_e8 beat me to it!
Also, will the jersey's be in NCAA 12?
I really like the sweatshirt, but I must say that I'd like to see more maize. People will buy this stuff and want to wear it to the game, so why not make it maize for the maize out?
I would suggest you relax. He took 1 minute out of your day to advertise his MgoWares and you throw a tantrum. I think the track jacket and hoodie are pretty sharp, and will be rocking one or both on the streets of Wicker Park. The jerseys are starting to grow on me too.
EDIT: this was supposed to be in response to DC's whining
Wicker Park: Fucking Hipster.
(kidding. Perhaps if this were 2003, I could say that. More accurately: Fucking gentrifier! Also kidding.)
My Polo's from the Mden were $70 plus shipping and i will be picking this one up. I will buy the vintage shirts also. The Mden is more $$$$ than Moe's. Who Down voted Moe's and why?
I like some of the items, but there is no way I am going to pay that much for the UTL stuff. A t-shirt for $26? NO WAY!
I can buy a new jersey and give mo and adidas my money or I can wait and get a game worn jersey and give my money to Mott. Hmmm...
Please post pic of you in said jersey along with proof. Otherwise this is the worst post I have seen on here in months.
I would love to buy Denard's or someone's game-worn but they will sell for thousands each, I'm sure. What do we think the over/under is on Denard's jersey? 5k?
have changed their minds but are afraid to speak up. The jerseys are great, and so are the track jacket and hoody. I've always liked the classic Adidia stripes better than the swoosh anyway. I have a wonderful black and white adidas German soccer coach's wind cheater that I got in a used clothing store in London that I never take off in fall.
Oh, I like it too. The problem I have (like many here) is the price. It's ridiculous to sell a shirt for $26*. I thought Asian child labor was suppose to make the stuff cheaper! It's hard to show spirit for the school I attend when it costs so much.
* not a shot at Moe. It's that much anywhere.
My guess would be that its a shout out to the founding of UM in 1817.
I don't like the jerseys, but some of these are pretty slick. The track jacket is awesome as long as whatever that weird pattern over it isn't actually on the jacket. I wish you could click to enlarge to a much bigger picture of it.
I'm torn on the sweatshirt.
The polo is pretty awesome.
They're all fairly expensive, but it's pretty tempting.
press control, then push up on your scroll wheel. Image grows.
I more meant a higher resolution image, not just zooming in on that current one.
I'd like the polo a lot better if they toned down the Adidas logo. Even better, move it to the sleeve.
Moe's send that Track Jacket right away brother... Hey I support Moe's for supporting this blog that we all love. Anyone down clicking Moe's is kidding themselves, without AD sponsorship Brian et al couldnt do what they do...
Just not feeling the retro gear. However, bring back this look anytime....
So, what happens to all of those shirts if Michigan loses? Would anybody ever really want to wear it again? I sure as bleep wouldn't.
Even though it is at least the third most important game this season, a game like Michigan and ND doesn't need this kind of tacky promotion. The only time I can ever remember this working out really well against ND is in 1989, when YTM made T-shirts that said "The Luck Stops Here" and they beat ND 27-10 on the way to a MNC. The "Catholics vs Convicts" shirts from ND the year before worked out pretty well in a 31-30 upset of YTM and their own MNC, too, but it isn't always a good idea.
I know they can work out great sometimes, but it just seems that the t-shirts backfire more often than not, and I don't know if this is the optimum year to buy a special t-shirt for the ND game.
All the shirts are $5 and the sweatshirts $10 at the 2012 Art Fair.
If we lose, they're that price in October.
Ok some of that stuff is pretty sweet. I'll admit I was hesitant about the throwback jerseys when I heard the idea, but as soon as I saw them, I loved them.
I have hated the jerseys with the white-hot passion of a thousand suns since I first saw them, but I coudn't figure out why until I saw the Moe site. It's this:
No wonder you feel that way.
That jersey says, "Moo."
Are they really selling a 00 jersey? Who would buy that? I would at least want a number that's theoretically possible to be worn on the field.
It's just the mock up for the customizable jersey where you can pick whatever number you want.
I really like the throwback jerseys, and they are going to look even better when they are whippin some Notre Dame ass all over the field on September 10th.
Sorry, I spent all my cash on game tix on Stub Hub back in January. $200 apiece for 2 in Section 4, row 40. Rocking traditional M garb and cheering my ass off for our dudes. Stripes? Really? That was a pretty good movie, but fugly on football jerseys!
but looks like crap on a football jersey. and the M logo on the full line is absolutely fugly, can't imagine spending any coin on this stuff. pass. . . .
And something like this makes me feel all the years... If this is popular with the younger set it makes it official.. I'm old.
In the picture, I think it kind of looks like a cool rugby jersey, which of course was a game much more similar to the football of yore (turn of the century) than the modern game. However, in person, after trying on a jersey at the store, I can sadly report that the sleeves indeed are too long without being tucked in, and the sheer volume of stripes was both distracting and a negative impact on the overall jersey. Ultimately, it was enough that I didn't purchase one. (As a consumer, if you purchase an inferior product, you only reinforce the problem.)
