Really I guess that account he set up for Hinrich and Collision was for someone else?

"The NCAA noted that two boosters, one since 1988, had provided graduation gifts to outgoing basketball players with the knowledge of Williams.[27] The NCAA also noted basketball violations involving a booster that took place from 2002 through 2005, during and after Williams' tenure."

Yeah he is a saint.

That is just what people know about. Next thing people will say Calpari doesn't cheat either.

Roy gets great recruits not because he is dirty, but because he is the hardest working, furthest traveled head coach in the country and he works for a school with great name recognition. When most teams have a midweek bye, the coaches stay home and rest. When UNC has a midweek bye, Roy flies across the country to visit recruits personally. You can say he is hypersensitive and complains too much, but you cannot claim he is dirty.

I do not like UNC, but to throw stones at a program and coach that has never even had whispers of recruiting violations is just wrong. UNC basketball is not Kentucky basketball in the same way the Michigan football is not Alabama football. Similar success, but neither Michigan football nor UNC basketball has had their programs shamed by sanctions in the manner of Alabama and Kentucky.

Can we play a game against UNC at Yost? Please? Or just get Roy to come to one as spectator, coach, player, official, media, band member I don't care what? I would love to see him react to that. Or can we just sponsor Yost's student section to go to UNC for a game randomly? There is SO MUCH ammunition... :-(

One major "problem" at the Dean Dome has always been supporters with good tickets giving them to other fans. For example, my dad, a Duke grad, was taken to the 2005 Duke-UNC game at UNC with 2nd row seats by one of his friends. Roy has always been frustrated with the passivity of UNC fans compared to Duke fans which results from UNC selling out their court side seats to major donors. This has led to the Dean Dome being labeled a whine and cheese crowd, similar to the Big House.

UNC's story in that Roy asked security to check the man's ticket and find out which season ticket holder had given him that seat, presumably to let that ticket holder know that such a practice was unacceptable. I'll see what my friends at UNC think about this. I wonder what excuse they'll have for ol' Roy this time.

Which I agree it's home field advantage. When you can heckle someone when they are at the line and they can actually hear it on the court it is a problem when it is on your home court.

Granted it was the pussiest of all things that I've ever heard someone get kicked out for... But the fact as someone said earlier that someone would give up that good of seats and sell to an opposing fan should change their ticket standing IMO (as we should do with fans who do the same at the Big House or any sporting event).

While I don't agree with Roy Williams kicking him out I do think that it's bs that your own team gets heckled on their own home court.

It may be a problem, but it's certainly not a problem centered around the visiting fans. If he has a problem with his players being heckled at home, then he shouldn't take out his frustration on visiting fans -- they just took advantage of a good opportunity, and they weren't saying anything even remotely offensive.

So yeah, while it's fine that he's frustrated at the vocal prominence of visiting fans, it's not fine that he reacts by lashing out at those visiting fans who very mildly heckle his players. I do agree that sort of thing shouldn't (often) happen at the home venue of a top team, but I don't think it's the coach's place to prevent it by policing visiting fans, or to whine about it afterwards:

"But I just don't think anybody should yell negative things toward our players (when) you come in on our tickets to watch our game."

He wasn't just saying the home venue should be friendly to the home players; he was saying the visiting fans should be polite enough not to yell at the home players. That's what I think is ridiculous, and that's why I asked if he's ever been to any sporting event anywhere.
